App Description

AAR Compressor provides you with the ability to compress and decompress Apple Archive (.aar) files on your iPhone or iPad.

Use the AAR Compressor app to add your files and compress them into the Apple Archive (.aar) format. You'll then be able to share it instead of a standard zip file to another Apple device. On supported devices, or using the AAR Compressor app, the Apple Archive file can then be decompressed.


AAR Compressor contains these great features:

COMPRESS

Use the compress tool to add any files using the document picker associated with the Files app on your device. Once you've added all the files you want to zip up, hit the button and you'll be presented with the option to share the archive.


DECOMPRESS

If you have received an Apple Archive file, you can use this tool to unzip the archive. Unlike on macOS, iOS doesn't work natively with Apple Archive files which is how AAR Compressor came to be created. Once you've located the .aar archive in Files, the app will decompress it and present the share sheet to allow you to save the unarchived file back to the Files app or share them with other people.


OPEN IN AAR COMPRESSOR

If someone has shared an Apple Archive file with you, you can use the Share Sheet to open the file directly in the AAR Compressor app. There’s an option in the settings menu to automatically decompress when the app opens too.
