Fibonacci was born in 1175. Many believe he was the most important mathematician of the Middle Ages. Fibonacci helped convince Europeans to use Arabic numbers instead of Roman numerals. He also identified an important sequence of numbers known as the Fibonacci sequence. This sequence describes many patterns that occur in nature. Use this app to help students learn about the significance of Leonardo Fibonacci and his contributions. He is certainly a giant in the history of mathematics.
