The 11.0.16 update is a complete end to end makeover of the AT&T Secure Family Companion app. We’ve kept the features you love and added many new features you asked for. To take advantage of these changes and to continue to use the Secure Family service you must update the app on all your family member devices, this include Secure Family on adult devices and Secure Family Companion on child devices. To enable the service update both the Parent device and child devices must be updated to 11.0.16 at the same time. We continue to listen to our valued customers and work to improve your experience.

Peace of Mind Just Got A Lot Easier®

Welcome to the completely updated and refreshed AT&T Secure Family Companion®. Secure Family Companion is a mobile app for use by children to help parents protect their children in both the digital and physical world. With the Secure Family Companion app installed on the child’s device, parents can locate family and manage their child’s screen time as well as the content they may access online using the Secure Family parent app.

FOR CHILD USING THE COMPANION APP:

* Family Location – with adult permission gives child a map view of family members location.

* Rewards – parents can give their child extra screen time as a reward for good behavior.

* SOS Alert - child in trouble? They can send an Alert to all family members with the press of a button.

* Countdown timer – gives child visibility into time remaining until internet is blocked or resumes.

* Usage Summary –child view of top websites and apps they accessed to help develop good digital habits.

AT&T Secure Family Companion is free and only works with the purchase of AT&T Secure Family, available in the App Store for $7.99/month (includes support for up to 10 family members) and up to 30 devices in total. Service auto renews every 30 days unless cancelled. Cancel anytime. To use the AT&T Secure Family service, you must download two Apps: the AT&T Secure Family App (adults, parents or guardians) and the AT&T Secure Family Companion App (children)

The AT&T Secure Family® App ($7.99/mo.) helps parents locate their family member’s devices, including children, and manage their children’s screen time, as well as the content they may access online.

AT&T Secure Family Companion App

AT&T Secure Family is designed to work with AT&T Secure Family Companion, a free app in the App Store. Install it on your child’s device and pair it with your device. Pairing with AT&T Secure Family Companion is required to access all the features of Secure Family.

AT&T Postpaid Wireless customers billed by AT&T when purchased through myAT&T:

• View, modify or cancel anytime within the app. 

• AT&T does not provide credits or refunds for partial months.

General:

• Only authorized app users have permission to use the App to locate a family member.

• Devices running the Secure Family App or Secure Family Companion App require iOS v.13 or higher.

• Note: Continued use of GPS running in the background can reduce battery life.

• There is a compatibility conflict that can prevent the addition of AT&T Secure Family Companion to your child’s companion device if you have AT&T ActiveArmor Advanced Mobile Security running on the same companion device.  If you wish to continue with the purchase, you must either remove AT&T ActiveArmor Advanced Mobile Security from your account or downgrade to AT&T ActiveArmor Mobile Security on the companion device before adding AT&T Secure Family Companion.
