Developer Response ,

Dear user,
This extension is not collecting any information, is not accessing any information from your browser, it's very safe.
Also, it's reviewed and tested by Apple in order to enter the App Store and they do not allow apps or extensions that collects information about you.
Actually, all your extensions (like Evernote, AdBlocker and so on) will have the same description there, this is the standard.
So keep using the extension with confidence.
If you need more details you can send me an email to hello@alexdenk.eu and I will gladly help you with more info.

Somewhat helpful

Gives rulers, but I'm having trouble figuring out the finesse use of them. There's no documentation that I've found so far. Wish there was more. I can make guides, but I can't drag them off the page or delete them individually. Can only remove ALL the guides by clicking a button.

I see what the post that mentions sensitive info is about: Once loaded, the "Extensions" tab in Safari Preferences states, "Permissions for 'Ruler': Webpage Contents: Can read sensitive info ... including passwords, credit cards ... on all webpages." This seems alarming so I called AppleCare, who looked it up and said everything looks legit to them. (But they couldn't say why, nor could they explain the message.) I only have one other extension installed (Reload Button) and it also has the exact same message in Preferences/Extensions. I've never had a problem, added RB years ago, so I guess its ok. Seems a weird message though.

Plus after all this I learned that Safari has a measuring ruler already, once you load the "Developer Tools".

Advantage of this one, Ruler For Safari: It will work without having to turn on Developer Tools, it has guides, and it's a tad prettier. I just wish it had some documentation.

Given all this, I'm going to keep it. But will probably leave it turned off (uncheck box in Preferences/Extensions) until I need it for a particular use.
