App Description
"Römerspuren" is a guide that tells the fascinating histories of ancient places at the Danube Limes and in the backcountry. Locations and sites where people lived and worked 2,000 years ago are resurrected as you foray into the Roman past. Amusing challenges reward the user with virtual Roman medallions and pull the user ever farther into the world of the civilian population and the legionnaires. Along the way, Roman structures and events from thousands of years ago reappear - thanks to modern elements such as 360° pictures or augmented reality.
Additionally, the app is a tour guide that suggests further points of interest, gives culinary tips and furnishes information on events. It supports its users on their journey into Roman times with information on routes between the locations. It offers recommendations for bicycle and hiking tours at the Roman sites.
The app "Römerspuren" was developed in connection with the INTERREG Project ‘AB 119 Valorisation of the Roman Cultural Sites in Upper Austria and Eastern Bavaria.’
