After eleven successful conferences (Capri 2004, Shanghai 2006, Anchorage 2008, Prague 2009, Florence 2010, Sydney 2011, Minneapolis 2012, Dubrovnik 2013, Quebec City 2014, Reykjavik, 2015, Lisbon 2016), the Financial Intermediation Research Society (FIRS) is pleased to announce that the next conference will be held in Kowloon, Hong Kong on June 5-7, 2017.
PROGRAM AND LOCATION
The conference will begin after lunch on June 5, and conclude in the evening of June 7. In addition to a very high quality program, the conference will feature a keynote speech by ROBERT TOWNSEND
The Elizabeth & James Killian Professor of Economics at the MIT.
and a special session by JUSTIN LIN
Professor and Director of the Center for New Structural Economics and
Honorary Dean of the National School of Development at Peking University.
The conference venue will be the Intercontinental Hotel, Kowloon, Hong Kong (https://hongkong-ic.intercontinental.com/) which is located in the Hong Kong downtown area close to museums and many attractions. Hong Kong is a premier city in Asia, where ancient traditions blend with a lively and modern atmosphere. In addition, Hong Kong is centrally positioned in Asia and allows excursions to several neighboring locations.
