The Curio Society: The Thief of Life - Hidden 9+

I actually really liked this game (the others in the series - not so much). The game was medium length if you included the pretty lengthy bonus chapter. No glitches, minimal lag time, good story line and graphics. I would have actually rated this game 4.5 if it was longer but knocked it down to a 4 since it wasn't too short and was a lot of fun to play. It also has a customized setting and a transportation map.

Awesome game! It's different, which is a good thing, not another Eipix formulaic offering. There was a lot to do in each scene, the length was good, and the puzzles took some time and thought, and there were a lot of them! You can customize difficulty, and most puzzles let you choose easy or hard, so if puzzles aren't your thing (they are mine!) then you could do an easier version. The HOS were varied with some I hadn't seen before.
I did encounter three glitches; at first I could not get the box to put the nails in, had to close and reopen to get the HOS to come up, one collectible invention was just not on the screen until I went to the strategy guide and back and then it was there. And finally, I could not do the sprinkler puzzle on hard, the game kept closing out, had to do it on easy. So real score is 4.5 bumped up to five because the game itself was so good! Keep 'em coming, Domini a games!!

I'll lead with the positives: the story line is actually good and it ended well. Plus, I feel like I actually got a good amount of play time out of it. However, I do have a few negatives that drop it down to a solid 3 stars (maybe 3.5). First, the mini games are either ridiculously difficult or too easy, there really isn't any in between. Also, with the mini games, it's entirely too easy to accidentally exit out, which was a bit frustrating. Plus, there was a LOT of running back and forth between rooms to get items. That's a minor inconvenience, no big deal, but worth mentioning. My biggest dislike overall was definitely the mini games (and I rarely have problems with them in other games). All in all, I'd say it's worth it, but I've played better.
