Best local news!

I have been a daily Press-Enterprise Reader since 1964 and a Subscriber from 1975. I switched to mostly digital last year and would not go back. Being able to read most articles start to finish with a single click and scroll maneuver is great! I also like being able to return to recent editions for continuing stories.
My sole complaint is for the Full-page Special Interest stories. It is literally impossible to read them on a cellphone and very difficult on a laptop! I went Next door yesterday to get my neighbor’s copy to read your excellent Summary of COVID-19 developments.

New version not an improvement

I’ve been a subscriber to the digital PE and can honestly say this new version is very buggy and not an improvement over the prior version of the app.

I have reported numerous issues to no avail so thought I would list just a few of the bugs here in hopes to get the attention of an iOS developer and possibly get them fixed(and make the app much more user friendly).

Prior app allowed you to configure a “Single tap” to read an article (Enlarge it). That option is gone and I now have to double tap to enlarge an article to read.

Double tapping on an article dows not frame it on my iPad screen. Instead it defaults to the upper left of the page forcing the user to then scroll to try and find the article to read

The header bar covers the top portion of the page after returning to the entire page view forcing the user to scroll to the next page the go back to reframe the header bar. Oh, and the pop up ad at the bottom of the page will also cover some of the text from the paper.

This new version definitely a step backwards from the prior version and is now as user friendly as the prior version. Whoever QA’d this version sure missed a lot of issues for those of us who read (or try to read) the paper on an iPad.

Good

Good app which improved, but could use one minor improvement. I like that you can touch the article and it will open so you can read the entire article and it shows the original page and continues with the next page. This is better than your competitors. I just wish the red color of the article would go away after you X out and go back. Minor annoyance, but to me it would be the last improvement for a great newspaper app. Thank you for being here with the news.
