Cadenza: Havana Nights 9+

Overall, a very enjoyable game.

The first few scenes were very clear, a good sign this was going to an enjoyable game. The story line was straight forward. With a bit of thinking, you can quickly figure out your next step.

There were a few minor glitches. The game requires you to tap on the screen after each sentence is spoken, even though the words are spelled out on the screen. There's a slight issue with displayed text nearly covering the "X" needed to be pressed to exit a scene. The first HO was really good - it was a mix of finding matches as well as hidden objects. Other HOs were the standard search. As the game goes on, the HOs are a good mix. The mini puzzles are not too difficult, not too easy.

To use items, just tap on the item and then tap where you want to use it.

In some of the HOs, tapping does not work well on all the items. Just keep at it.

This game was worth buying. Can't wait for the next in the series.

I bought this game and can play it on my new iPad, but the iPhone version had no sound even though I tried to find “help” on their website. It also won’t bring up the info for mini games so I just had to wait until I could skip the game. Tried to open the guide for this game and couldn’t even find it on their website. I’ve bought games from this site for years and since none of my 20+ credits were usable, had to pay for this game for only $2.99 to have something different to do during the COVID-19 stay in place. I didn’t even finish the game and somehow it appears that I have completed all tasks playing on my phone.

I rarely review HOG games even though I play regularly but thought this one was just so much fun to play, the HO scenes are complex but easy, the mini games vary from simple to really hard and I even followed the story, something I never do. It was nice to play a game in the real world vs a fantasy or macabre one. And such a sweet ending. Fifth star left out because I sometimes had trouble getting items to “stick” when placed in the correct window. Still a gem among the genre.
