App Description

“The Bitter Years” audioguide allows you to optimise your visit at the Waassertuerm in Dudelange. It not only provides background information about the historic collection, but also about the exhibition space.

Enrich your visit with interesting facts on Edward Steichen’s 1962 for New York’s Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) curated collection consisting of a total of around 200 photographs from renowned photographers, such as Walker Evans, Dorothea Lange, Arthur Rothstein and Ben Shahn. This important photographic work, commissioned in the 1930s by the FSA (Farm Security Administration) in America to support Franklin D. Roosevelt’s New Deal Politics, has been exhibited in the Waassertuerm in the city of Dudelange since 2012, and has been part of CNA’s (Centre national de l’audiovisuel) collections since its inception in 1989.

The multimedia app not only allows you to dive into this part of American history and Edward Steichen’s work as curator, but also to navigate and understand the exhibition space better. The app is also available in English, French, German, and Luxembourgish.
