The Big Cat Reading Assessment Tool has been developed specifically to help teachers assess & analyse children’s progress in reading.
Revolutionising the Miscue Analysis process, the app will give you a super-quick & thorough way of tracking how children progress through the group reading book bands. The process takes a fraction of the time that paper-based tests do and all of your work is automatically saved.
Beautiful print-outs and reports are automatically generated for parents, children & staff.
We believe that if a child makes mistakes when they read, they are not random errors. Children attempt to make sense of books using what they know of the world around them and the language skills that they have.
By analysing these mistakes we can begin to understand what children are capable of and also what we need to work on next with them.
Traditionally the process of Miscue analysis has been laborious and paper based.
We have changed all that!
