Miyamoto guide

Posted by Campbell Bird on January 2nd, 2019

Miyamoto can be a pretty tough roguelite for more reasons than one. Even if you stick with the game enough to wrap your mind around the minimal UI, your fights won’t exactly be easy.

But, with a little strategy and planning, it’s definitely possible to beat Miyamoto, even without saving up coins to purchase the most powerful leader units in the game. See below for some things to keep in mind while trying to make a run to beat Miyamoto.

Twinfold guide

Posted by Campbell Bird on December 7th, 2018

Twinfold may look like a cheap Threes! clone at first glance, but it's so much more than that. It's actually a rather deep roguelite with a really satisfying difficulty curve and almost endless replayability.

Since the game's depth does take some digging to understand, your first few games of Twinfold might not go so well. Check out these tips to help you improve your game faster.

Dragalia Lost - Resplendent Refrain Sabnock Guide

Posted by Campbell Bird on December 3rd, 2018

Dragalia Lost's latest event, Resplendent Refrain, is an event that favors light Adventurers in an all new raid dungeon. This dungeon has four teams of four face off against the mighty Sabnock, which is probably the toughest raid fight in the game yet.

Although Sabnock is tough, he isn't unbeatable. We've been testing different ways to clear this raid and have been able to clear it consistently by following a few, simple guidelines. See below about how you too can start clearing the Sabnock fight:

Dragalia Lost - Weapons Guide

Posted by Campbell Bird on November 30th, 2018

Dragalia Lost might seem like it’s all about the gacha at first, but there’s quite a bit more to the game than just hoping you pull the best Adventurers, dragons, and Wyrmprints, out of the virtual slot machine. If you truly want to master and conquer high level content in this game, it’s more important to know what you’re doing with what you have than just spending time and/or money to try and get a chance at something better.

Take weapons, for instance. Weapons are some of the most important items in Dragalia Lost, yet there’s no random component to them at all. From the start of the game, every player gets the chance to craft and upgrade any and all kinds of weapons that they want, and these are items that are more important than both dragons and Wyrmprints. That said, weapons can use a ton of materials to craft and upgrade, so you want to be judicious about what weapon work you do and when. Check out some tips below to make the most of your weapons in Dragalia Lost.

Dragalia Lost Guide - What You Need to Know About Resplendent Refrain

Posted by Campbell Bird on November 27th, 2018

It's been exactly two months since Dragalia Lost's release, and–although it isn't exactly what you'd expect from the likes of Nintendo–it has retained a strong following because of how often its events have come along. Since release, there have been four distinct events complete with unique challenges and rewards that really makes the game feel dynamic and worth sticking with.

This trend is showing no sign of stopping, as Dragalia Lost's fifth event is on the horizon. Resplendent Refrain is coming hot of the heels of the wind-based facility event, A Wish to the Winds, and promises another difficult raid for players to try and tackle cooperatively. Details are still a little scant on what Resplendent Refrain will contain specifically, but see below for some expert analysis of what to expect given what we know:

Dragalia Lost - Ruler of the Shore Guide

Posted by Campbell Bird on November 20th, 2018

The toughest part of every facility event in Dragalia Lost is the pesky wave-based challenge battles. These fights push your Adventurers to the limit with tons of enemies with huge amounts of health that can take you down easily if you’re not careful.

With A Wish to the Wind, this wave-based event is as hard as ever, but it is certainly passable. Check out a few handy tips on how to beat the Ruler of the Shore mission below:

Dragalia Lost Guide - What You Need To Know About A Wish to the Winds

Posted by Campbell Bird on November 12th, 2018

Another raid has come and gone in Dragalia Lost, but that doesn’t mean there’s not still lots to do. In fact, the game’s next event, A Wish to the Winds, has already been announced and will be coming to the game this Wednesday.

Although details are scant on what—exactly—this event will entail, there’s been a lot of speculation about what it could be. See below for some of the most reliable scuttlebutt of what’s in store with A Wish to the Winds.

Dragalia Lost guide - How to Close Out Kindness and Captivity Properly

Posted by Campbell Bird on November 8th, 2018

There's only a few more days left of Dragalia Lost's second raid event, Kindness and Captivity, and if you're anything like me, you've already cleared all of the Endeavors and maxed out the Gold Emblem rewards.

Even if you have done all of the high tier stuff in this event, there's still a few handy things you can keep doing for the next few days to make sure you're all set by the time Kindness and Captivity ends. See below:

Dragalia Lost guide - How to beat Hypnos Showdown

Posted by Campbell Bird on November 2nd, 2018

Dragalia Lost's second raid event dropped this week, and after speculating on everything you'd need to know to get prepared, we've spent some real time figuring out exactly how this raid works. As it turns out, everything we suggested would be useful turned out to be correct (fancy that!), but there are some other nitty-gritty details about beating Hypnos that we couldn't have possibly known until the event came out.

Now, after clearing Hypnos 21 times as of this writing (with 19 of those clears being expert and EX clears, mind you), I've gathered quite a few tips to make this fight a bit easier. See below:

Everything You Need to Know About Kindness and Captivity

Posted by Campbell Bird on October 29th, 2018

Halloween isn’t even here yet and Dragalia Lost’s Trick or Treasure holiday event is already over. That doesn’t mean we have nothing to look forward to on the 31st though.

On the contrary, at the end of this month, a brand spankin’ new event is coming, and it’s called Kindness and Captivity. There’s a little bit of info on that this event will be, and a lot of speculation about how best to prepare. Once again, we’ve gathered all this info in one convenient place so you know what to expect when this event goes live.

Element guide - Tips and tricks for planetary domination

Posted by Campbell Bird on October 29th, 2018

Element is a pretty neat sci-fi real-time strategy game that takes place on a spherical map. Although it streamlines quite a few elements of the genre to make things simpler on a touchscreen, the game can still be quite complicated and hectic.

If you spend too much time simply swiping to look around your planetary battlefield, your enemy can really build up momentum and steamroll you. With that in mind, check out these tips to help you in your galactic conquest.

Dragalia Lost - Who to upgrade if you don't have five-star Adventurers

Posted by Campbell Bird on October 23rd, 2018

As a gacha game, Dragalia Lost only allows you to build your teams of Adventurers out of the best units you have around you. So, although we may all want to have teams full of S tier five-star Adventurers, that’s simply not realistic.

Most players may have only one or no five-star Adventurers and will have to resort to putting together a rag-tag group of “lesser” heroes. Fortunately, Dragalia Lost is pretty well balanced so that you don’t need ultra rare units to do well in late game content, though they aren’t great about letting you know who these folks are. See below for my picks of some of Dragalia Lost’s best non-five-star heroes (and even some advice about five-star units to avoid):

Dragalia Lost Imperial Onslaught Guide

Posted by Campbell Bird on October 22nd, 2018

Now that Dragalia Lost has been out for a bit, most players have likely found time between limited events like Loyalty’s Requiem and Trick or Treasure to complete the game’s campaign. If you somehow haven’t yet though, make sure you do, as completion of Dragalia Lost’s campaign unlocks a new mission type called The Imperial Onslaught.

The Imperial Onslaught is a pretty tough mission type, but they’re extremely worth adding to your daily regimen once you have access to them. These missions grant unique rewards that can allow you to do everything from advance your Facility Level to create some of the most powerful weapons in the game. See below for everything you need to know about The Imperial Onslaught.

Dragalia Lost Trick or Treasure Jumpstart Guide

Posted by Campbell Bird on October 19th, 2018

It’s finally here! Loyalty’s Requiem ended in Dragalia Lost, but it has swiftly been replaced with a new Halloween event. This event—called Trick or Treasure—had quite a bit of hype surrounding it before it came out, and for good reason too.

This isn’t just another raid-based event for another element type. It’s a facility event, meaning it’s focused around letting you earn rewards to help you upgrade your Castle Grounds. In light of the fact that Trick or Treasure is such a different beast, we’ve put together a quick and dirty guide on how to get a jumpstart on this Halloween event.
