Sourcebits Celebrates WWDC and E3 With Free Apps

It may be the busiest week for geeks and other technology enthusiasts this year, as both Apple's Worldwide Developer Conference and the video game industry's biggest convention, the Electronic Entertainment Expo, are both happening on the West Coast this week. Sourcebits and their publishing label SpoonJuice have decided that in order to celebrate these two huge conferences, they're going to make their apps temporarily free for June 6th through June 11th in order to celebrate. Here's a list of the apps going free:

  • Climate - The Weather Stand: This app is designed for stands and docks, providing weather information (via either Location Services or from manual location input) on one of several backgrounds. The app also shows current sun & moon position, with clock display, and the ability to play iPod tracks through the app.

  • Daily Deeds: This daily task app offers the ability to track daily tasks and monitor progress on those tasks, with the ability to create PDF reports that can be shared via email, and backed up via Dropbox.
  • Fun Booth 2: This app, with facial recognition technology, allows users to add silly props to their face, either from the camera or from the Camera Roll, with the ability to share photos to Twitter and Flickr.

  • Night Stand HD: This universal app serves as a clock and alarm, with support for waking up to songs in the iPod library, and iOS 4 background alert capabilities.

  • The Plateau: Is there nothing more aggravating than when headphone cords get tangled up? I blame gnomes that keep purposely tangling them while we look away. The Plateau is basically this activity as a game; there are a variety of nodes that are interconnected, and the goal is to get them all untangled to a point where the lines connecting each node are not crossing over with any other line.

  • Valentine's: This app allows users to create valentine cards from their phones to send to their loved ones. This app might not be too useful now, but it'll be handy come Valentine's Day!
  • All these apps will be free through the 11th, when they go back to their original prices; Sourcebits reps will be handing out cards with QR codes linking to the apps on the WWDC floor as well.
