iPhone App - Designed for iPhone, compatible with iPad

I'm shocked that I've been posting these picks for five weeks already. For this week, my utility of the week is the IMDB app - Movie Genie.

Movie Genie is basically just an interface to IMDB (Internet Movie Database). It allows you to search movies and actors and provides you with a ton of details about them. Movie Genie is a well developed and fast app that interfaces with IMDB perfect. The developer promises a lot of features in the feature, but the app is great as-is. Check out the review here.

For week four of my Utility of the Week picks I decided to pick an app that's already been out for a while but happened to go on a huge sale this week - Air Mouse Pro.

Air Mouse Pro is an accelerometer-controller (or touchpad-like) mouse for your computer. After downloading the app and the computer software that goes along with it, Air Mouse Pro can become your mouse, your keyboard, or even an app similar to Remote (to control your media).

Air Mouse Pro is on sale for $1.99. It went on sale on June 12th and I've heard that it will only be on sale for a week, so get it by June 19th!

iPhone & Apple Watch App - Designed for iPhone and Apple Watch, compatible with iPad
Our rating: starstarstarstarhalfstar :: USEFUL :: Read Review »

This is week three of my weekly choice of a utility (or non-game) that will help turn your iPhone into the perfect pocket companion. My week one and two choices were Groups and Put Things Off, check out the links to read their reviews and the following links for the Utility of the Week posts: Week 1, Week 2. This week my choice is Stick It, similar to last week's choice of Put Things Off, Stick It is also a sort of to do or task management app but can be used in addition to a to do app instead of replacing one.

Stick It allows you to create sticky notes as your wallpaper. This can be useful in all sorts of ways and the choice is completely up to the user. Some specific ways I have used it so far is as a shopping list, my day's plans, and simply as decoration. Once you've created your wallpaper of sticky notes it becomes the quickest way to give yourself reminders... simply bring up the locked screen whenever you'd like to check your notes.

Check out my review of Stick It here. It's currently on sale for $0.99. Suggest an app for my Utility of the Week award at our forum here.

iPhone App - Designed for iPhone, compatible with iPad

Games are great, but when you have a device as complex as the iPhone you want it to do a little more than just play games. I have a very specific goal for my iPhone - use it to help streamline everything that I do on a day to day basis. For anyone joining me in this quest to make the iPhone simplify your life, I will be posting an app every week that I have deemed worthy of everyday use. This app can be a utility, a productivity app, an education app, a finance app, etc - anything that's not a game or entertainment app. You can make suggestions for the "Utility of the Week" thread on our forum.

My pick this week is "Groups", developed by Guided Ways Technologies (check out the review). For $2.99, you'll receive the most perfect contact organization companion in the app store. This app has replaced the Contacts app on my dock, and is now sitting beside Phone, Mail, and Text. Congratulations Groups! You are officially the first non-native application to earn a spot on my dock.
