In their latest effort to stop people's wasteful use of plastic water bottles (I definitely just ruined my chances for covering the next Ozarka app), Thermos, the "leading manufacturer of vacuum-insulated reusable beverage bottles," has come out with OasisPlaces.

"OasisPlaces is a lifestyle user-generated app used to locate accessible public water fountains in cities across the United States and Canada." Once you are a registered user, you can GPS tag (or type in the address of) public water fountains, wherever they may be. In a stroke of genius, the app even lets you rate the fountains for their "coldness, cleanliness, location and flavor."

Being a kid raised in the "public water fountain" generation, I definitely appreciate a cold blast of water coming from a water fountain. I'm a bit turned off by the germy little kids that slobber all over them, but I guess what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. Right?

Go save some plastic trees and download the app, it's free!
