While Real Racing 3‘s international release date is still targeted for February 28th, some lucky players across the world are already getting the chance to play EA and The Firemonkeys’ hotly-anticipated racing game a couple weeks early. New Zealand and Australia already have the ability to download the free-to-play title starting today, and Canadians may get a chance starting tonight to play it as well, according to Touch Arcade.

This in all likelihood is a server test for the game. What developers occasionally do is to release their games to just select countries in order to not only test their servers, but to get feedback from real-world users that can be implemented before a global launch. In this case, EA and Firemonkeys may also use this lead time as a way to fill the game’s Time Shifted Multiplayer with a balance of real player performances.

The game is available immediately in Australia and New Zealand [NZ iTunes Link], and while everyone else has to wait, there are ways to become an honorary Kiwi and download the game right now. Those who do will be glad to know that progress is backed up to the cloud if they decide to delete and reinstall their country’s version in order to buy in-app purchases.
