Jurassic Park Roars Its Way To The iPad 2

Exciting times dinosaur fans! Jurassic Park has hit iPad 2s! Not literally obviously as no one would like a T-Rex to crush their beloved gadget. No, I'm talking about Jurassic Park: The Game, hotly anticipated since Telltale Games announced it earlier in the year.

Maximizing the processing power of the iPad 2, Jurassic Park: The Game promises breath-taking cinematic scenes and some darn impressive graphics. Players will be taken back to Isla Nublar during the events of the first Jurassic Park film and be able to interact with the storyline in a brand new way. While many locations will be familiar to fans, there will also be plenty of new areas to explore as we discussed earlier this week.

Jurassic Park: The Game also comes with AirPlay functionality so that players can see the action on their Apple TVs for even more impressive visuals.

Jurassic Park: The Game is out now for the iPad 2 priced at $6.99.

Jurassic Park: The Game to Show Off More Isla Nublar

Posted by Rob Rich on November 14th, 2011

In just a few short days, Telltale Games' second "adventure game that's practically a sequel for the movie it's based on" will be unleashed. On less mobile devices, anyway. The iPad 2 version is set to follow soon after the November 15th release date, but nothing specific has been stated as of yet. That's okay though, because we have these new morsels of information to tide us over.

Jurassic Park: The Game takes us back to Isla Nublar shortly after the events of the first film, following a new cast of characters simply trying to escape the island with their lives intact. However, it's not just about the new faces: this time around we're going to be seeing more of the park itself. Sure there will be familiar areas (i.e. Dennis Nedry's "ditched" vehicle), but we've also learned of some new locations players will get to explore that weren't covered in the movie.

Locations such as the still under-construction Bone Shaker Roller Coaster, the Geothermal Power Plant, Dr. Laura Sorkin's Field Lab used for observational studies (as well as some unsanctioned and dangerous experiments, the North Docks which are a stone's throw away from the iconic Visitor's Center, and finally the Marine Facility (video featured below), which I'm personally terrified to experience. Wait until the end of the clip to see what I mean.

iPad 2 owners, keep an eye on that App Store after the 15th. There might not be an official release date for the iOS version, but I'd imagine it might only be a week or two longer. Heck, since the 15th is a Tuesday it's also not out of the question to consider it might be available on the 17th (Thursday). So... Anyone have an iPad 2 they don't want anymore..?

Telltale Brings Monkey Island Tales Series to iPad. The Whole Thing.

Posted by Carter Dotson on June 24th, 2011

Ahoy, ye mateys! Telltale Games' revival of the classic Monkey Island adventure game series, Monkey Island Tales HD, is now available on iPad. Featuring legendary protagonist Guybrush Threepwood, these games continue the kind of offbeat humor that the original games were known for. Developed in conjunction with LucasArts, and designed to stay true to the Monkey Island aesthetic, Telltale's games put the player in control of Guybrush, trying to stop the undead pirate and long-time nemesis LeChuck, as well as trying to cure a voodoo curse he accidentally unleashed upon the Caribbean while trying to stop LeChuck. Whoops.

Now, when I say the series is now available on the iPad, I don't just mean one entry, with more entries to come later; I mean the whole series is now available on iPad! Starting today, parts one through five are all available for purchase on the iPad for $6.99 each. This means that players can check out the series at their own pace, try out the series and quit playing if they get bored, or pick up from a specific episode if they've played other episodes before.

But what about people who haven't played the Monkey Island Tales games at all? Like people who are familiar with the classic games that Tim Schafer had a hand in, but are skeptical about the new series' faithfulness? Or what about the people who need an introduction to the series that's more than just what a short lite version would provide? Well, Telltale Games has decided to give these people a great deal, as episode one is available for free! That's right, the whole first episode is available for free, no gimmicks. This will only be free through July 22nd, before it goes back up to normal price, so act quickly, or else there won't even be a lousy t-shirt to be had!

Puzzle Agent 2 To Be Released June 30

Posted by Jennifer Allen on June 10th, 2011

Puzzle Agent was a bit of a hit with us last year even though it was a little too short. Fans need not fear though as the next instalment, cunningly titled Puzzle Agent 2, is set to be released on June 30.

Puzzle Agent 2 sets out to build upon its older brother's success by offering more rewarding puzzles based on the feedback from fans. The game will pick up after FBI Agent Nelson Tethers 'solved' the Scoggins Eraser Factory case -- things get much murkier. Tethers has to go rogue and ventures back to the town of Scoggins, Minnesota in order to solve the biggest case of his career so far. Hopefully this will also mean a longer experience!

To celebrate the impending release of Puzzle Agent 2, the original title is on sale with the iPad version priced at $2.99 and the iPhone version priced at $0.99 until June 14.

Hopefully that'll keep many puzzle fans busy until June 30 when Puzzle Agent 2 hits the App Store.

Check out the video and screenshot gallery below to whet the appetite ready for the game.

Telltale and NBCUniversal Bring Law and Order To The App Store

Posted by Blake Grundman on April 26th, 2011

Anyone who has watched cable television pretty much ever should be very familiar with reruns of the infamous Law and Order and the iconic "doink, doink" sound effect.  When the original program was cancelled last fall, fans were greatly disappointed to learn that they would not get the chance to see season twenty-one of its marathon television run.  For this very reason it came as no shock that soon thereafter the team at Law and Order decided to follow in the footsteps of CSI and transplant the franchise to a sunnier locale - in this case, Los Angeles.

So it should also come as no surprise that NBCUniversal is very pleased to announce that they are partnering with episodic gaming juggernaut Telltale Games to bring the drama of the courtroom to the App Store very soon.

"With the 'Law & Order: LA' games, Telltale will build from the experience and expertise cultivated through numerous seasons of police and crime procedural games over the years.  The 'Law & Order: LA' games will take the crime solving focus to interrogation and criminal investigations, with a heavy dose of courtroom drama on each case.  Telltale will also continue to advance its unique approach to cinematic presentation and storytelling as well as dialog and character interactions."

The crime drama genre should really come as nothing new to Telltale, especially considering that they have already released a couple of licensed CSI based games.  Really though, isn't this kind of a betrayal of the CBS network's most popular series?  I am sure the lawyers had a good time trying to untangle that legal knot, but rest assured that we will be seeing the "doink, doink" making its return very soon.  We will keep you on any new details in regards to this agreement as they become available.

Hector: Badge of Carnage Comedically Accosts iPad April 27th

Posted by Blake Grundman on April 25th, 2011

There just isn't enough humor in law enforcement these days.  Everyone is too focused on being the next Jack Bauer, instead of the next Carl Winslow.  Luckily Telltale Games haven't forgotten what it was like when the badges could both uphold the law and tickle your funny bone all at the same time.

In their upcoming iPad release Hector: Badge of Carnage, players get to know a hard talking, yet lovably bumbling British cop by the name of Hector.  Lets just say that when you have the moniker of, “the fat arse of the law,” you can bet that some hilarity is bound to ensue.

The first installment in this episodic series, entitled We Negotiate with Terrorists, will pit Hector against the vile forces of terrorism, as they target the already crime infested city of Clapper’s Wreake.  How will he live up to the pressure?  Only God knows, but be sure to download the app when it debuts on April 27th, so you can know as well.

We will leave you with a brief trailer showing you what Hector has in store for us all, later this week.
