TeamLava Announces Next Entry in "Story" Franchise, Fashion Story

Posted by Carter Dotson on March 30th, 2011

TeamLava has set out on a goal - to turn every possible industry into a freemium game. From restaurants to bakeries to nightclubs to treasure hunting, almost everything is fair game for TeamLava. Next up for them is Fashion Story, another universal freemium "virtual world RPG experience" that has you in charge of your own boutique. You get to stock and sell clothing and other apparel in your own boutique, with the ability to unlock designer brands that you can sell to increase business, and the ability to customize your boutique with a variety of layouts and decorations. As well, you can customize your own avatar to make yourself look all fashionable and trendy, because if you're going to run a fashionable and trendy boutique, you better be fashionable and trendy yourself. And of course, there's social networking features, so you can meet other players of the game and visit their shops.

Fashion Story may not be exactly appealing to core gamers like myself, but who knows - TeamLava is turning everything else into a story. Maybe Spy Agency Story is coming up next. I sure wouldn't mind running one of those, especially if I could wear an eyepatch and give people awesome codenames and send them out on missions. It could happen! Until then, you'll just have to enjoy the slightly less cutthroat world of the fashion industry. Fashion Story is coming soon to the iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad.

TeamLava Announces Nightclub Story

Posted by Carter Dotson on March 23rd, 2011

Do you like the idea of running a nightclub, but don't like dealing with the dancing, extremely loud music, and fact that you'll be dealing with many intoxicated patrons of ill repute? Well, you can soon get your inner night club manager on in the comfort of your own quiet dance-free home or wherever you are with Nightclub Story from TeamLava. This latest entry in their "Story" series of games has you in charge of a nightclub's business, allowing you to customize the look of your club, make money to sell new beverages and buy newer and fancier decorations. The game will also let you play music from your own iTunes collection, so if you've always wanted to start a nightclub that plays just folk metal, your dream has finally come true. As well, Nightclub Story comes with social networking features, allowing you to exchange photos of your night club with other players, leave tips, and trade items with them. The universal freemium app releases on March 24th, this Thursday. Prepare to get down and funky wherever you feel like it.

Treasure Story Launches in App Store

Posted by Brad Hilderbrand on December 17th, 2010
+ Universal App - Designed for iPhone and iPad

TeamLava has just announced the launch of their newest game, Treasure Story. As the sixth game in the "Story" franchise, Treasure Story allows players to explore a virtual island hunting for buried treasure and rare artifacts which they can trade for in-game prizes. The game is also set up to allow users to create islands of their very own and then share their progress with friends via Facebook Connect. If this all sounds suspiciously like Farmville then congratulations, you understand exactly what the game is all about.

The freemium title is free to download, but in-game boosters are available for purchase for those who want to progress through the game a bit faster. Also, treasure hunters are rewarded for sharing with friends, so expect to start seeing a lot of Facebook messages pop up about how your buddy Dave just dug up some fake rubies and wants you to help him get a better metal detector. Just when you finally stopped tending crops and milking cows another game comes along to crush any hope of spending your free time actually interacting with other human beings face-to-face. Don't sweat it, the whole idea of actually to talking to someone in person and not via Facebook is totally overrated anyway.

TeamLava is promising new content for Treasure Story every week, so once the apps has its hooks into you it's going to be very hard to get them out. In a way, we almost feel evil giving you the iTunes link so you can got and download what's sure to be a massively addictive game, but then we never claimed that we weren't evil so I guess there's no need to apologize. So go ahead, click the link. You know you want to. No one's going to know, it can be our little secret...
