Top 3 App Deals for 11/28/11

Posted by Rob LeFebvre on November 28th, 2011

Happy CyberMonday, y'all! We're here to give you a gift - the gift of not having to slog through the entire bunch of price drop lists out there to find the best deals on apps. We'll do it for you. Honest! Just check out what we have below and let us know what you think in the comments.

Majesty: The Fantasy Kingdom Sim - Was $2.99, now $0.99
We gave this Universal game app an Editor's Choice badge, and rightly so. From our review: "I feel like Majesty came out of nowhere. I suppose as someone who was never able to sample most of the PC’s classics it kind of did. I’m glad I finally had the chance to play it this time around, and I hope that it gets all the attention it so rightly deserves."

Spirits for iPad - Was $4.99, now $0.99
What did our reviewer have to say? Well, "Even though you can tell where Spirits for iPad got its inspiration from, there’s no denying that it is an inspiring product in its own right. Its delicacy, intricacy, difficulty and artistic flair is what sets it apart from the rest of the clones and should definitely be on your list of iPad titles to buy."

the LeftOvers - Was $1.99, now FREE
Looking for a quick, quirky multiplayer strategy game? Look no further than this one, set in a world without adults. The left over kids must band together to keep themselves safe by battling for control of the world. Sounds good to us, especially since it's FREE.

Five For Friday: Week of November 12, 2010

Ash:
Ash just may go down as one of the best role-playing games nobody played on the iPhone. This classic turn-based RPG features great touch controls, a huge world, throwback 16-bit visuals, and a great story. When the guys from Penny-Arcade give away codes for the game, you know there has to be some magic and fun in this game. Grab it now and watch your weekend disappear.

Strongholds: New Age:
Do you only have a few minutes and an insistent urge to throw around some cards in a strategy style game? Strongholds: New Age has your fix at the ready, complete with some 3G multiplayer goodness. There are over 100 cards to use for destroying your opponents. Every move ends with an auto save, so you can ride the elevator without fear of completely botching your game. If you like card flopping games like Orions, Magic the Gathering, or Arcomage, then there is something here for you to enjoy.

Spirits for iPad:
Spirits is a crazy new puzzle game about wind and creativity. The goal here is to guide spirits towards a goal by manipulating wind, digging tunnels, and building bridges of leaves. There are 40 gorgeously hand-drawn levels that you can work though. Try to save as many spirits as you can, and come back to save even more. Relaxing, stunning, and simple will keep players coming back for more.

DisplayPad:
Want a second monitor for your Mac, but you want to avoid digging through reviews on what works best? Why not keep your desk clutter free and use your iPad as a second monitor and save room for more coffee, or beer. All you need is a Wi-Fi connection and just a few minutes. Once set up, you can seamlessly use your iPad as a touch sensitive second monitor. That's right, according to the developers, you can even interact with Mac apps right on the iPad. So simple, yet so useful.

KORG iMS-20:
Musicians prepare yourselves as the Korg MS-20 has been fully recreated on the iPad. Not content with just putting in a complete analog synth studio, this also features a drum machine, mixer, and even the Kaoss Pad technology finds a home here. This is damn near the whole studio, minus the egg carton foam lining the walls and spit covered mic. Once your audio symphony is put together, share it online via the SoundCloud network. Who says you need to get out of bed to go to work.
