Gameloft's upcoming game Amazing Spider-Man 2 gets new trailers.

Posted by Tre Lawrence on April 14th, 2014

Gameloft has released a new trailer for its upcoming thriller, Amazing Spider-Man 2, which is due out April 17.

The game is the sequel to Amazing Spider-Man and is the official mobile game of the Sony Pictures blockbuster of the same name. It's based in Manhattan, and features Electro in addition to Kraven, Green Goblin, and Venom. The game's new original story actually expands on the movie, packing in side missions with bosses.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Announced for iOS - Coming in April Courtesy of Gameloft

Posted by Stephen Hall on March 13th, 2014

Gameloft has announced that it will be the development studio bringing the official The Amazing Spider-Man 2 game to iOS this April when the movie is released. The game will be similar in many ways to Gameloft's original offering, but this sequel is going to be more graphically rich and more detailed in appearance compared to its predecessor. The overall size of the game's open world of Manhattan will be increased as well, giving you more room to sling your web and get the bad guys.

The game is a "premium title," meaning there is almost no chance that it will be a free offering (especially considering it's launching with a movie). But maybe that's for the better; tons of in-app purchases to keep a game sustainable are never fun. Be on the lookout for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 for iOS this April, but for now, check out the teaser trailer below.

The Amazing Spider-Man Swings Onto iOS This Summer.

Posted by Jordan Minor on June 7th, 2012

It should come as absolutely no surprise that Gameloft is releasing a tie-in game for the upcoming movie The Amazing Spider-Man. After all, it is one of the summer’s most-anticipated blockbusters and Spider-Man is still one of the biggest superheroes of all time. With its release date rapidly approaching, now more details are starting are come in.

The game comes courtesy of the same team behind 2010’s Ultimate Spider-Man: Total Mayhem. As such, it should be fairly safe to assume that this new title will seek to build on that already proven formula. However, this time players can expect to immerse themselves in the movie’s new, rebooted, Spider-Man universe while completing missions, protecting citizens, honing their skills and powers, and doing whatever else Spider-Man tends to do. Gameloft says players can look forward to a “comprehensive battle system” as well.

The Amazing Spider-Man the movie arrives in theaters on July 3rd. Expect The Amazing Spider-Man the game to arrive on mobile devices everywhere that same day.

Best of E3 Day 1: Spider-Man, Sonic 4, And Lots of the Undead

Posted by Jeff Scott on June 16th, 2010

Today was the start of the 2010 E3 and unlike last year, there are tons of great iPhone and iPad games being show.

Ultimate Spider-Man: Total Mayhem - Why save the best for last, let's just start off with the best thing I've seen so far, Ultimate Spider-Man: Total Mayhem. This new game from Gameloft is based on the Spider-Man comics, not the movies. And the game shows it's comic roots. While the game is still pretty early, it's showing really great promise. No release date yet, but expect it fairly soon. Take a look at the trailer released today by Gameloft.

Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Episode 1 - Next up, that speedy blue hedgehog turns up again in Sonic The Hedgehog 4 Episode 1 for the iPhone. This, unlike the previous Sonic for the iPhone is an all new game with new graphics designed for the iPhone, not an emulated classic. The game overall looked well defined, bright, and very speedy.

Dungeon Hunter II - Another Gameloft title caught my eye today as well, this sequel dungeon game looked amazing on a demo 3GS with great lighting effects and 3D graphics. Dungeon Hunter II should be hitting the app store soon. While I only had a little time with it I was really impressed with the lighting effects and the smooth gameplay.

Zombie Wonderland - Next up, zombies and more zombies. Chillingo had a few game developers to show off. Among them two vastly different, but good, zombie games. Zombie Wonderland is a sort of time management defense game. Your job is to guard the building you are in from the approaching zombies. You do this by tapping the zombies to shoot them, boarding up windows, and placing automatic machine guns. If the zombies get inside, you have to clean up their left behind goo before time runs out -- see, time management! Zombie Wonderland is available now for the iPhone and iPod Touch, and coming soon for the iPad.

Oddly, two of the largest iPhone game producing companies, EA and Activision, were not showing any new iPhone or iPad games. Very odd considering the size of the two companies.

Judgment Day has at long last come for the traditional paper comic book. Ok, so maybe that's hyperbole (something Stan "The Man" Lee would no doubt appreciate) but Marvel Comics for the iPad represents a significant step forward for digital comics. Chan
