Don’t focus too much on tasks

The main progression system in Alto’s Odyssey is tasks, which might ask you to travel certain distances or perform certain tricks in a run. While it may be tempting to try and get these tasks done ASAP, sometimes focusing on completing them makes them harder to complete. It’s often easier to accomplish more tasks more often if you just focus on having a really good run instead. On a good run, there are multiple opportunities to complete any given task, which increases your likelihood of getting them done.

The new 1.1 update for Alto's Adventure has officially gone live, and it adds a fair bit of stuff to the endless downhill skier/llama racer.

Canadian developer Snowman has announced that their endless procedural snowboarder Alto’s Adventure is set to ride its way onto the App Store next week.

Featuring physics-based movement and dynamic lighting and weather, players will need to master the 'easy to learn' one-button trick system in order to chain elaborate tricks and maximize their speed down the alpine environment. Along the way the game features 180 goals to achieve, from rescuing llamas to leaping over vast chasms. THere's also a Wingsuit to acquire, which will allow players to gracefully fly and loop their way down the snowy peaks.

Alto’s Adventure will be available in the App Store next Thursday, February 19, for $1.99.

Shifts, by Snowman, is a calendar that helps you organize your work schedule. If you are not one of those lucky people that work traditional 9-5 Monday to Friday hours, you probably have to deal with opening and closing shifts on changing days. This calendar allows you to create shifts with a tap of your finger and assign them colorful icons and custom notes to make it easier to figure out when you are going to be dog tired.

You can also add your hourly rate and get an estimate of your monthly earnings. The app lets you add up to 2 shifts per day. You can even set up a shift rotation quickly and easily. The Checkmark 2.5 update, by Snowman, is now available in the App Store now.

The update introduces new features such as the Checkmark Widget that allows you to see any tasks that are due today by swiping down from the top of your screen, and interactive notifications that easily allow you to mark tasks as complete. The app has also been optimized for the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, and has added iOS 8 support.

To celebrate the update, Snowman is offering Checkmark for 70% off, which means that right now you can buy it for just $2.99.

Alto's Adventure, the new snowboarding endless runner from Snowman Games, has just had a gorgeous trailer released for it. The game features highly stylized art with dynamic weather and lighting effects to give the player a visually stunning experience. When it comes out, Alto's Adventure will be a paid, premium app, with no ads or in-app purchases

Snowman has just released their 2.1 update for Checkmark 2. The update includes new features such as snoozing, improved recurring reminders, and tappable actions in notes. The recurring reminders now require you check them off so that you never miss them and the tappable actions allow you to add links inside the notes field, such as a phone number, URL, or email address.

Checkmark 2 now also supports a 24-hour clock and has improved their date-specific location-based reminders and “Add from map” zooming. And to celebrate all these new features, Checkmark 2 is 70% off for a limited time.
