The newly-released CounterSpy, by Sony Computer Entertainment America, is a highly stylized action/stealth side-scroller set against the backdrop of the Cold War.

Players take on the role of an agent of C.O.U.N.T.E.R, a spy agency working to maintain world peace. The missions are continually changing and reward players with blueprints and dossiers that provide access to powerful weapons and features. CounterSpy can be linked to other versions of the game on Playstation systems to continue the action.

Counterspy is on sale for $4.99 for a limited time to celebrate its launch.

Noble Nutlings developer Boomlagoon has announced Monsu, their upcoming side-scrolling collectible card game. The character design and gameplay has been in development for months, and as such the end result will contain dozens of characters and a ‘rich’ storyline.

In Monsu, players will have to battle their way through endless hordes of grumpy villagers in order to complete the task of retrieving stolen treasure. Each character players come across will have their own magical powers, which can then be collected and used to bash and smash their foes. The game also features multiple territories to explore, including the Woods and the Cemetery.

Antti Stén, CEO of Boomlagoon, had this to say of the game:

We’re focused on creating character-driven games that players love, all around the world. With Monsu, we’ve created a platformer that is easy to pick up and play, instantly rewards the gamer, and still provides nearly infinite ways to progress through the environments.

Monsu is set to arrive on the App Store sometime this Summer.

In upcoming game Warhammer 40,000: Carnage from Roadhouse Interactive, you play a lone Space Marine who has to battle tons of enemies with countless weapons while traveling through the game’s dark fantasy worlds. Sound awesome? The game’s “exceptionally rich” universe immerses you in action as you build alliances with friends but also fight battles with the game’s terrifying evil creatures.

The game features over 50 levels, the ability to build countless in-game items through an intricate crafting system, the ability to upgrade your weapons, a leaderboard for competing with other players worldwide, and highly accessible controls.

You can expect Warhammer 40,000: Carnage to launch in the App Store sometime in May.
