Top 3 App Deals for 10-14-11

Posted by Rob LeFebvre on October 14th, 2011

Three sweet gaming deals today from big companies like EA and Gameloft. Don't pass these up; if you haven't already played these games, you owe it to yourself and your wallet to grab them while you can.

The Sims 3 - Was $6.99, now $0.99
The Sims 3 Ambitions - Was $4.99, now $0.99

The quintessential Sims experience on iOS and its similarly well received sequel are both on sale for a measly dollar. Like our review clearly states, it's time to "get away from life and control someone else's."

Dead Space - Was $6.99, now $0.99
In space, no one can hear you scream, especially if you're a mute protagonist of the Gordon Freeman school, bent on saving your mining ship from certain doom at the hands of an alien freakshow. Yeah, we like this game. You will, too, and it's WAY less pricey right now.

Shadow Guardian - Was $6.99, now $0.99
While our reviewer found it a touch too pricey at seven bucks, Shadow Guardian HD shouldn't be a problem for anyone at a dollar. Give this Uncharted clone by Gameloft a try for a lot less cash.

Gameloft Announce Back 2 School Sale

Posted by Jennifer Allen on September 2nd, 2011

Gameloft has just announced an end of the summer/back to school sale on 8 of their most popular iOS titles. That means they're all available for only $0.99 each.

Here's the scoop on exactly what's on offer:

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Shadow Vanguard: My pick of the bunch having loved it on the iPhone earlier this year. Priced at $6.99, it was a fantastic game. At only $0.99 each for the iPhone and iPad versions, this is guaranteed to be an ideal purchase for any strategy shooter fans.

Reviewed favourably earlier this year, Shadow Guardian will look immediately familiar to Uncharted fans.

Another homage to a great, there's Rogue Planet which looks a heck of a lot like Advance Wars. This is a very good thing.

There are also discounts for the Gameloft Action Pack and Sports Pack, each providing three games in all for only $0.99!

The Gameloft Action Pack comes with Hero of Sparta, Blades of Fury and Brothers in Arms, while the Sports Pack comes with Let's Golf, Real Tennis and Pro Baseball.

Also dropped in price is James Cameron's Avatar but we reckon it's more for avid fans of the film rather than being a must have title in its own right.

Finally, there's a price drop for Zombie Infection which we rather enjoyed last year as well as a price drop for Prince of Persia: Warrior Within.

All these games are on sale for a limited time only so get buying now rather than later!

Gameloft Debuts Upcoming Lineup

Posted by Blake Grundman on November 29th, 2010

With "Black Friday" well in the past, this is that magical time of year when developers start looking towards the upcoming rush of new holiday iOS device purchasers and ready themselves with some of their premier releases.  Gameloft is no exception to rule, letting slip three of their exciting new titles, which include a couple of sequels and one newly premiering franchise.  So without further ado, lets dig into the details, shall we?

NOVA 2

Acting as a direct sequel to last year's Near Orbital Vanguard Alliance, or NOVA for short, NOVA 2 takes place six years after the original's events.  Humankind is now in the midst of an extreme civil war, which as you can imagine leads to the introduction of interesting new alliances being made and several new factions emerging.  They have released several new pieces of concept art that can be seen in the gallery below.  These can help give players a glimpse at what they can expect to see when the game releases at some point in December.

Shadow Guardian

Obviously following in the footstep of the tremendously successful PlayStation 3 release Uncharted, Shadow Guardian places players directly into a treasure hunt of the historical variety, looking for a centuries old relic that has been lost for over one thousand years.  Players will be running, jumping, shooting and exploring their way through a wide variety of different stages, all of which look absolutely stunning in the screen shots and trailer that you can see below.  You can look forward to this bad boy landing in the App Store "very soon."

Asphalt 6: Adrenaline

What would a holiday season be without a trip back to the well of racing games on iOS?  Marking their sixth (yes, that was not a typo) entry in the Asphalt series, Gameloft has gone out and licensed some of the biggest names in automobiles, to help better flesh out their vehicle roster.  More information on that lineup should be coming very soon, but in the meantime, why not check out the teaser trailer and screen shots in the gallery?  This should be burning rubber soon, with a release date set for sometime in December.
