The Best Board Games on Mobile

Posted by Campbell Bird on December 6th, 2019

Today is the start of PAX Unplugged, the only PAX focused entirely around board games. In commemoration of its third year, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on some of the best mobile board games out there. Check out the list below.

Shards of Infinity

Shards of Infinity is hands-down the best deck-building game you can get on mobile. If you’re into Dominion or Ascension, you’ll be familiar with the gameplay of Shards of Infinity, but this game stands apart in how directly competitive it is. Check this game out if you want a great asynchronous multiplayer game or want to hone your deck-building skills against AI opponents.

The best superhero game on mobile

Posted by Campbell Bird on April 4th, 2019

I don't know if you know this, but superheroes are Kind of A Big Deal. Every other week it feels like a new Marvel movie is coming out and the hype train for each release is undeniable. Just look at how the upcoming Avengers: Endgame broke sales records and sales sites at the same time within hours of tickets going on sale earlier this week.

I’m not here to talk movies though. That’s not what this site is about. Alongside releases in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (or MCU, if you're so inclined) are a plethora of the media tie-ins, not the least of which are mobile games, and I’m writing this to tell you that yes, indeed, there’s a fantastic superhero game that trumps all others, and you should all be playing it if you want your superhero fix. The only thing is, it's probably not a game you'd suspect.

There may be some decent Marvel mobile games out there. Heck, some might even be considered “good.” That said, the absolute best superhero game on iOS actually has no affiliation with Marvel, DC, or any other actual comic book publisher. Do you know where I'm going with this?

Oh hi there, and welcome to our round-up of the best games that are currently on sale for iPhone and iPad. You thought I didn't see you there, did you, skulking behind the bushes? Trust me though, the bushes aren't where the best deals are. The best deals are right here.

There's a whole load of games on sale this week, but I've gone right ahead and picked what I consider to be the cream of the crop. Disagree? Have your own suggestions to throw out there? Well let me know in the comments then. Go on, I don't bite.

Sentinels of the Multiverse Gets an Official Release Date for iOS

Posted by Jessica Fisher on September 15th, 2014

Handelabra Games has announced that they are officially releasing Sentinels of the Multiverse for iOS in October. The app will be based off the super hero card game by Greater Than Games, LLC and will include 10 Heroes, 4 Villains, and 4 Environments - although Handelabra is already planning on making expansion packs with more content available as DLC.

Handelabra is also offering an exclusive promo card to the first 5,000 people who purchase the game: The Super Scientific Tachyon. This hero has the “Experiment" power, which allows a player to reveal the bottom 2 cards of any deck and if those cards share a keyword, they can be immediately played.

Sentinels of the Multiverse is set to be priced at $9.99 and will hit the App Store on October 16.
