Gameloft has announced that their mobile MMORPG Order & Chaos Online has become completely free to download and play - permanently.

When the game launched back in 2011 it cost $8.99 and required a subscription to play, but since then the subscription model has been killed off and now the cost to get the game at all has been removed as well.

Alongside this announcement, the game has received yet another update that adds a new PvP Battlefield with 2v2 and 4v4 capture the flag and challenge modes. PvP leagues are also new to the game, allowing players to join leagues and battle to top both their league and compete against other leagues. New events have been added as well to celebrate the 3rd anniversary of the game launching: Haradon Day and the annual Magpie Festival

Order & Chaos Online is available to download now for free.

Gameloft's Order and Chaos Online Update - Goes PvP, Adds Mounts, Kills Subscriptions

Fans of Gameloft's ambitious mobile MMO, Order & Chaos Online, have more reason to celebrate. The game will be getting a massive update later in August. The game will include new features that fans have been asking for, including mounts, a brand new dungeon to explore, player vs player (PvP) combat arenas, and and end to the subscription model.

The new dungeon will be called Salien Pt. 2. The original Salien dungeon was added in update 1.10 in March of this year, 2012. There will be three new arenas for player versus player combat, in combinations of 1 on 1, 2v2, 3v2, or 4v4 players. There will be four new mounts to tear around on through the Arcadian Forests or the Tanned Land.

What's most interesting, however, is the end of the subscription model. PC and console-based MMO games are suffering huge losses in player subscriptions lately; it makes sense that a mobile game like Order & Chaos would struggle with adding and maintaining an active, paying subscriber base as well. With mobile gaming exploring the free to play model more vigorously than the traditional PC and console gaming space, it's surprising that Order & Chaos Online lasted as long as it has.

Stay tuned for more details as they arrive.

Plenty Of Bargains From Gameloft This Halloween

Posted by Jennifer Allen on October 26th, 2011

Never one to miss an opportunity to offer some great price reductions, Gameloft has announced a sale in honor of Halloween.

Six games in all are on offer at a bargain price of $0.99 each. The selection is a bit of a mixed bag, however.

For the kids and general movie tie-in fans, there's the choice of Shrek Forever After available in both iPhone and iPad varieties. The same discount is offered for the rather dubious Iron Man 2, again with a choice of iPhone or iPad.

We'd recommend giving those two a miss. However, do consider MMORPG Order & Chaos Online which is a pretty special homage to World of Warcraft.

Racing fans may want to consider Driver, the iPhone adaptation of the popular getaway driving console title.

There's a discount for Tony Hawk's Pro Skater clone Skater Nation too but it might be best left to the avid skateboarding fans, desperate for a similar title.

Probably the biggest bargain is that of Gameloft Action Pack. With three games bundled together, Hero of Sparta, Blades of Fury and Brothers in Arms, it might not be the best selection of games but it's pretty unbeatable when it comes to frugal gaming.

For those after a fright, Gameloft has provided a very creepy video to advertise what's going on. It's a tad bizarre and unnerving.

All these bargains run for the next week.
