These days it's not uncommon for big game releases to be accompanied by their own iOS app - a Companion App if you will. In fact, it seems more uncommon for a AAA game to come out and not have some sort of iOS presence.
And goodness do they ever have an iOS presence. It's the very reason AppSpy has taken the time to put together a list of many of the AAA companion apps you'll find on the App Store. Grand Theft Auto V, Shadow of Mordor, Elite: Dangerous, Far Cry 4, and Dragon Age: Inquisition are only a few examples of what they've covered.
You can find the complete list right here.
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is set to arrive on the App Store tomorrow with enhanced and remastered visuals. Rockstar just announced that Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas will be making its way to iOS devices this December. It's been enhanced with newly remastered graphics that include upgrades to the shadows, color palette, characters, and cars. It will also come with three different control options for driving and maneuvering, and it features full controller support for iOS. Rockstar has even tweaked the checkpoint system to make it easier for progression once it arrives on the App Store this December.
Grand Theft Auto: iFruit Is A Companion App for Grand Theft Auto V That Lets You Take Care Of A Virtual Pet
Rockstar released a brand new app called Grand Theft Auto: iFruit, a companion app for Grand Theft Auto V. Pocket Gamer reports that iFruit lets players access the latest news, log into the Rockstar Social Club, design custom license plates, customize cars, and place orders for new vehicles, all while being away from Grand Theft Auto V.
The best part out of all of this is that players also get a virtual pet, Franklin's dog Chop. If players take good care of Chop, he'll end up finding hidden items when they take him for a walk in the game. Chop is also said to be more helpful and responsive, but who knows what that means exactly!
Now, go get yourself a virtual doggy to take care of while waiting for the launch of GTAV!
Plot Theft, Awesome 5! is a choose-your-own adventure game where players take the role of a gamer who spends too much time playing a crime game that he begins to think he can pull it off in the real world. So, because he can't, it's the players job to help him avoid getting arrested and beaten up by others.

Gameloft continue to tease us with a new trailer and set of screenshots to advertise the forthcoming release of Gangstar Rio: City of Saints, a mere six weeks after the last trailer. There's still no sign of a release date but it's continuing to intrigue with its Grand Theft Auto style gameplay.
This trailer depicts some cool looking sights such as flying helicopters, tanks to take control of, cool cars to drive and er exploding footballs to contend with. The screenshots offer similar prospects plus it looks like players will be able to fly planes and maybe even steer yachts. That's not forgetting the ultra violence we've all come to expect from sandbox gangster titles like this.
Looks like Gangstar Rio: City of Saints will be great fun when it hits the App Store.
While we all wait for further news of the release date, take a look at the Gangstar Rio: City of Saints mini-site on Facebook and, also, check out the trailer and screenshots below.
