Steal the Emperor's Peaches in Monkey King Escape. Yep, Peaches

Ubisoft's new runner, Monkey King Escape, tells the story of the Monkey King as he races to escape the Jade Emperor's armies. The story is based on the classic Chinese novel, Journey to the West.

You'll be flying, dashing, and jumping your way through the mythical world of Chinese mythology. You can also connect with your friends online to compare scores and see who is the most agile Monkey King of them all. In celebration of the Chinese New Year, there will be two special in-game powers for a limited time. You'll be able to decrease your speed by changing into a sheep or increase your running distance by performing the Lion dance.

In celebration of Valentines day on February 14, King is releasing it's first player challenge for Candy Crush Saga. You'll have to crush candies against opponents all over the world, but if you manage to decimate 1000 red candies you'll get a reward of 10 gold bars and a lollipop hammer. To help players achieve this, anyone who buys gold bars during the contest will also be granted unlimited lives for 24 hours. It is going to be a 'smashing good time' for fans of Candy Crush Saga.

"At King we’re always looking for new ways to entertain our players and continually add new content to our games,” said Sebastian Knutsson, Chief Creative Officer at King. "And this Valentine’s Day is no exception. For the first time we’ll be offering all the Candy Crush Saga players around the  world the chance to compete in a live in-game challenge. Players will have 24 hours to match 1000 red candies on any level and those that reach the target will receive some sweet in-game rewards."

Fans of the classic Japanese manga, Fist of the North Star, will be excited to hear that GungHo Online Entertainment, have joined together to create an awesome event in Puzzle & Dragons.

For a limited time the game will feature a Fist of the North Star dungeon and several of the characters including Kenshiro, Rei, Shin, and Toki. If you manage to fight your way down to the hardest depths of the dungeon you'll face off against Raoh, Ruler of the Century's End, and in defeating him you'll get the Raoh ChibiDra.

The event has already begun and will run through Sunday, Feb. 22. You can download Puzzle & Dragons for free to check it all out.

Storm the Halls of Echo Base in First Star Wars: Galactic Defense Event

Star Wars: Galactic Defense is getting its first in-game event called Attack on Echo Base. Fans of DeNA's tower defense game will be excited to battle through the snow and ice of planet Hoth. You'll be able to rank up on the leader
boards and earn increased experience, in-game currency and rewards during the event. There is also a special bonus wave on each level where you can score higher than ever and new characters to be used during the event.

Attack on Echo Base is only around for a limited time. You can check it out by playing from 1/28/15 through 2/2/15.

Kritika: The White Knights Celebrates Success by Giving New Players Free Stuff

Kritika: The White Knights has passed 10 million downloads worldwide and GAMEVIL Inc. is celebrating by giving existing users a special present as well as a new update. You can log in today by 2:59pm PST to get a and awesome level 50 Legendary weapon. What is it? We don't know, but it sounds awesome.

New users can also make use of the coupon code HELLOKRITIKA to get themselves 200 free Karats and potentially give them more of a chance to catch up. Just make sure to use the code within 24 hours of downloading the game, or else it won't work.

The update will be coming out this week and includes the guild shop and guild tower. To access the guild shop you must join a guild, but once you're in you'll be able to purchase great items with guild shop points that can be earned in Guild Tower battles. Some in-guild activities will also get you points, so this gives you some options other than saving up Gold and Karats for items.

The Guild Tower feature lets guild members build a tower and hold in-guild activities including the aforementioned Guild Tower battle. The more activities you do in a guild, the more powerful you and your guild will become.

This is a big week for Kritika: The White Knights. If you haven't checked out this popular action RPG yet, you can download it for free on the App Store now. The coupon code for new users will be available through February 7.

Eventbrite Unveils Their New Neon App for Event Organizers

Eventbrite has today announced a new app for ticket organization for events: Eventbrite Neon, which is set to replace their At The Door and Entry Manager apps.

This new app allows event organizers and venue operators to act as their own box office, with the app able to monitor ticket sales and trends in real time, accept payments and issue tickets on the spot, and scan attendees tickets at the event itself. Furthermore, potential problems such as ticket reissues, cancellations, and refunds can also be dealt with from within the app.

The Eventbrite Neon app is available on the App Store now, for free.

Three Big Gameloft Titles are Getting Fancy Memorial Day Events This Weekend

This Memorial Day weekend Gameloft is holding a series of special events across three of their games: Asphalt 8: Airborne, Despicable Me: Minion Rush, and World at Arms.

Asphalt 8 is having a 40% off sale on all its U.S. cars in Class D and Class A, along with three special cup races: the Captain's Cup (win an in-game 2013 Dodge Challenger SRT8), the General's Cup (win 1 million credits), and the Memorial Day Cup (win the car and up to 1 million credits). World at Arms, meanwhile, is offering the chance to win several different holiday-themed items (Lexington Minuteman, Paul Revere Statue, Washington Monument) during Operation Memorial Day. Finally, Despicable Me: Minion Rush's Memorial Day event gives players the chance to win a special Fireman costume.

All of these events are live now, and are only available for the next three days. Better act fast!

Plants vs. Zombies 2 is turning 5 years old, and is celebrating with prizes and a limited time in-game event.

The event, known as the "Birthdayz" Party Event, allows players to win prizes by battling Birthdayz Zombies. The event also includes:

· Seven Days of Birthdayz Parties with your favorite Plants and Zombies
· Six celebratory Birthdayz costumes for the Zombies
· Piñatas turning into presents
· Two epic Gargantuar battles

The event is scheduled to end May 31.

We had an opportunity to review the game last year. Plants vs. Zombies 2 is available for free on the App Store.

DeNA and Crytek unleash The Collectables Easter Egg Mayhem in-game event to run through April 22nd

DeNA and Crytek, the collaborative team behind tactical third-person action game The Collectables, has gotten into the spirit of the season by revealing it ongoing "Easter Egg Mayhem" in-game event that is scheduled to run till 15:00 CEST on April 22.

The event allows players to collect Easter-themed reward cards by accumulating Easter eggs. According to the official announcement, by completing the extremely challenging reward stages players can earn bronze, silver, and Epic reward cards that are not available in the regular campaign.

Crytek Budapest Studio Manager Kristoffer Waardahl mentions the humorous undertones. “The Collectables had an amazing launch and we’re just getting started. Crytek and DeNA are dedicated to delivering great content and the Easter Egg Mayhem event is a prime example of this,” he says. “Easter Egg Mayhem puts a spotlight on the fantastic sense of humor in The Collectables and we hope our fans have as much fun playing through the event as we did making it.”

The Collectables is available for free on the App Store.

Pocket Gamer Connects is Coming to London in 2014

Today Pocket Gamer announced Pocket Gamer Connects, a new mobile gaming conference that will be the largest the U.K. has ever seen.

Pocket Gamer Connects is set to open up on January 21, 2014 at Vinopolis in London's Southbank. The first years of the growing mobile arts movement come to a culmination with the inaugural LA Mobile Arts Festival (LA-MAF), an eight-day event that will showcase the best in iPhoneography and other forms of mobile digital art. Hosted in Santa Monica, Calif., LA-MAF is the first-of-its-kind for the mobile arts and the largest mobile art event to date, featuring over 225 artists from over 30 countries and 25 U.S. states, exhibiting well over 600 images, sculptures, films and installations.

2010 Game Developer Conference - We'll Be There

The 2010 Game Developers Conference is rapidly approaching. GDC is again this year focusing a special track on iPhone game development, and we're expecting a bunch of iPhone developers to attend.

If you're going to be in town for GDC, make sure you hit up the iPhone Developers Union / IUGO party at the Marriott Wednesday night. The party last year was a great time and a wonderful way to meet up with iPhone game developers from all over the world.
