Ski Safari has been quite the entertaining endless runner (skiier?), but now we've got an official sequel to look forward to.

VentureBeat reports that Cartoon Network plans to do more with mobile gaming and is now working with Defiant, the creators of Ski Safari, to bring a Ski Safari-style Adventure Time game to the App Store. It will feature Finn and Jake skiing down a mountain to escape the Ice King as players collect and use special power-ups to go faster and higher. The game will remain similar in gameplay to Ski Safari, but add the humor of Adventure Time into the mix.

Rob Rich loved Ski Safari when he reviewed it back in April and who can I blame him? Sure, it was yet another endless runner but it was oodles of fun and that's the most anyone could really wish for.

Rather excitingly, the first major update for Ski Safari has just been released. This update brings with it 30 new challenges to delve into, along with 8 more ranks for Sven the skiier to climb. There's the addition of a new animal to ride in the form of a wolf, as well as a new vehicle. New costumes, gadgets and powerups are included, plus there's a new slope with new hazards. Can you guess that there are lots of new things to enjoy here? Oh yes!

As a final addition, players can now spend their collected gold coins in Ski Safari's in-game shop. A much nicer touch than using real money, surely?
