iPhone App - Designed for iPhone, compatible with iPad

Though I may be a pasty white kid who grew up in a small town in the middle of nowhere, I have always liked Hip Hop music above all others.  There is just something about a song with an amazing beat that strikes home with me.  As I explored my appreciation of the genre, I just so happened to stumble across a little program by the name of 106 & Park, and it forever opened up my eyes to the hip hop culture in America.  The only problem with the show was that there was no way to interact with it beyond the confines of the living room.

For this very reason BET has decided to design an app that is targeted to further compliment the station's premier program.  Not only will you be able to take this on the go, but if you are using the app during the program itself a whole new world of entertainment and interactivity will be at your fingers.  First off, users will be able to tweet from within the tool during the episode, your tweets could very well be read on-air!  You can also vote for your favorite music videos and freestyles, without ever having to touch a browser.

A last neat feature is the program's use of what BET is calling "Code106" barcodes.  When these specially designed barcodes appear on-screen, viewers can capture them using the camera in their iOS device, and gain special access to VIP content and prizes.  Interactivity has never been so much fun.

This may finally be fan service done right, because not only does the 106 & Park app engage the audience, but it also incentivizes their viewing and participation.  What else could a viewer really ask for?  If you enjoy the show, downloading this free software should really be a no brainer.  Let us know if you dig it in the comments.
