Crossy Road Devs Hipster Whale are Bringing PAC-MAN 256 to iOS Later This Year

Posted by Rob Rich on May 27th, 2015

Hipster Whale, the minds behind the rather popular (and rather great) Crossy Road, have teamed-up with Bandai Namco to create PAC-MAN 256: an absolutely bonkers looking maze runner chaser thing.

The new game turns a bug from the original PAC-MAN (and other early games in the franchise) into a feature by having players make a mad dash through an endless maze - with the infamous glitch in hot pursuit. Along with Inky, Pinky, Blinky, and Clyde of course. Coins and power-ups will also be available to help even the playing field a tiny bit (but not too much).

PAC-MAN 256 will be available on the App Store later this summer as a free download.

Bird Zapper Review

+ Universal App - Designed for iPhone and iPad
By Bonnie Eisenman on March 24th, 2011
Our rating: starstarstarstarblankstar :: BIRD-BRAINED FUN
Bird Zapper is a fun reincarnation of the omnipresent "match-3" game, with a fluid feel, good graphics, and a highly ridiculous premise.

PAC-MAN Championship Edition

iPhone App - Designed for iPhone, compatible with iPad
By Robert Corra on December 28th, 2009
Our rating: starstarstarhalfstarblankstar :: SERVICEABLE PORT
Pac-Man CE on the iPhone just isn't quite as cool as the original. The diminished graphics, imperfect controls, and lack of leaderboards help to lessen the experience.

Namco Bandai Bringing Ridge Racer to the iPhone

Posted by Robert Corra on December 15th, 2009

According to Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu, Namco Bandai it set to release a version of their classic arcade racing franchise to the iPhone. Ridge Racer: Accelerated is tentatively scheduled for a worldwide release before the end of the year.

The Ridge Racer series has been gracing a variety of gaming platforms since 1993 with its unique, drift-heavy racing style. The iPhone version looks similar to the recent PSP editions of the game, where you race against up to 12 competitors. The controls are said to be accelerometer-based, and the screenshots show a gas pedal & brake located either both on one side, or one on each side of the screen. Both behind the car and front bumper camera options are visible as well.

Not much else is known regarding the feature list of the game, but we should be finding out soon enough considering the tentative release date. The price of Ridge Racer: Accelerated has not been revealed at this time.
