Over at San Diego Comic Con, Bandai Namco announced two new games for iOS: PAC-MAN Championship Edition DX, a sequel to Championship Edition, and PAC-MAN Friends, a new original game for the platform.

PAC-MAN Friends will challenge players to use 'intuitive' tilt controls in order to rescue Pac-Man's nine friends from the ghost's castle, with the game containing 95 increasingly challenging levels across six worlds. PAC-MAN Championship Edition DX, meanwhile, will bring the three modes of the original (Score Attack, Time Attack, and Ghost Combo) and add in seven zones with over 150 levels between them into the mix. New power-ups and boosts will also make their way into the game, hopefully giving players a leg-up on their way to high scores.

PAC-MAN Friends is set to make its way onto mobile devices this September, whilst PAC-MAN Championship Edition DX will arrive this November.

After just under six months since the launch of the game, Bandai Namco has announced that Tales of Phantasia is going to be pulled from the App Store and made "unusable" in the near future. The statement given on the App Store page for the game is as follows:

We regret to inform you that we will cease distribution of this app on 08/28/2014 (Thursday). On this date, the app and all associated services will become unusable. This includes In-App Purchase items already purchased and save data. Furthermore, sale of In-App Purchase items will conclude on 07/29/2014 (Tuesday). We apologize sincerely to all of our customers for this inconvenience, and hope you continue to enjoy our products and services in the future.

For the time being, Tales of Phantasia is available now and is free to download. Past August 28, the game will become unplayable, which is certainly something to keep in mind if you intend on buying any in-app purchases before they're removed on July 29th.

E3 2014 - Bandai Namco Reveals Goofy Movie Puzzler Cinemagic

Posted by Rob Rich on June 18th, 2014

I don’t know about you, but I’ve been getting mighty tired of all these awful movie sequels and “reboots.” Well, thanks to Bandai Namco’s upcoming Cinemagic, we can finally fight fire with fire! Or, well, we can at least fight bad movies with awesomely bad movies.

Cinemagic is a match-3 puzzle game in which you’ll need to collect various movie-like elements (reels, tickets, etc), which are themselves used to activate special movie cards. These cards will determine things like the actors in your own movie, major plot points, and so on. Once you’ve run out of moves you’ll be treated to a unique synopsis and movie poster for your creation - and if you’re lucky you’ll also have beaten that other movie at the box office and raked in some serious profits.

You’ll be able to get your hands on Cinemagic for free this November.

Soulcalibur Unbreakable Soul Out Now - Combines Cards and One-on-One Combat

Posted by Ellis Spice on May 9th, 2014

A new entry in the Soulcalibur series can now be found on the App Store. Soulcalibur Unbreakable Soul, unlike the original Soulcalibur, is a card-based game that features a one-finger control system, with players selecting what moves they wish to perform from the bottom of the screen. Using this system, players automatically guard when not performing any moves, with well-timed moves creating openings that allow for a barrage of attacks on their opponent. The game also features an all-new story following Cassandra and the Edge Master on their search for fragments of the Soul Edge.

Soulcalibur Unbreakable Soul is available now, is free-to-play and requires an Internet connection.
