Next Games has released some new details and visuals for its upcoming gameThe Walking Dead: No Man’s Land. The game will revolve around a group of people as they struggle to survive the walker apocalypse. There are not many details about the game yet, but Next says it will be more open and less story driven, giving you a continuing experience without a set end.

While there is no set release date, Next Games and AMC have decided to launchThe Walking Dead: No Man’s Landaround the beginning of season 6 this fall. We'll just have to wait a bit longer to sate our zombie hunger.

On the heels of its insanely popular television program The Walking Dead, AMC TV has announced that it is tapping Finnish developer Next Game to develop a mobile game based on the TV show. The game is said to be in production, and the launch should coincide with Season 5 of the show.

Both companies will partner to market the app. According to AMC President Charlie Collier, "We chose to team up with Next Games because of their outstanding creative and technical talent, as well as a willingness to re-imagine the unique and compelling world of The Walking Dead, which has built a significant and passionate global fan community,” he says.

Next Game chief Teemu Huuhtanen is equally upbeat. “Our take on the undead survival franchise will match the against-all-odds action and moment-to-moment tension of the TV series. We want to find that sweet spot where gameplay and narrative inform and reinforce one another. Like AMC’s The Walking Dead itself, we’re not giving away too many details right out the gate, but I can confidently state it’s unlike anything we’ve seen from The Walking Dead franchise on home or mobile gaming hardware before.”

More details will be released in coming months.

Telltale Games has released its third episode of Playing Dead, a video series discussing its new game based on the hit comic book and TV show, The Walking Dead. In this episode, gameplay footage is released as well as an interview with The Walking Dead creator, Robert Kirkman.

Here are some highlights from the interview and gameplay footage:

The game doesn’t follow Rick from the comic books or TV show, but is set in the The Walking Dead universe. The game will give people some information on some of the other characters like Glen before the known story of the comics and TV show. I also noticed Hershel in the gameplay footage.

Like Mass Effect, different choices create a different storyline experience. So players will be able to replay the game with different choices and end up with different outcomes.

The gameplay footage shows the player doing tasks such as feeding children, repairing a radio, fighting zombies with hammers, and talking to NPCs. Dialogue choices seem to be a big deal and remind me quite a bit of Mass Effect.

The PC and Mac versions of the game are already available for preorder and will be released in late April. It hasn’t been explicitly announced, but we can hope that the iOS version is released at the same time as the PC/Mac, XBox, and Playstation 3 versions.
