HondaLink Announced - Brings Aha App Integration to Deliver Personal Radio Station to 2013 Accord

iPhone App - Designed for iPhone, compatible with iPad

Plenty of drivers have already discovered how integrating their smartphones with their cars can lead to better driving experiences. This fall, Honda owners will get to try out a new kind of connectivity system called HondaLink. Combined with the Aha Radio app, HondaLink looks to give users a fresh way to enjoy their content on the road.

Aha Radio seems to work like an audio version of Flipboard. Users feed the app with their various personalized media sources like songs, radio stations, audiobooks, podcasts, and social networking sites and are then presented with a custom audio stream for them to listen to while driving. Users can also monitor traffic conditions as well as search for directions to restaurants and other local hotspots. All of this is done through the hands-free voice recognition controls, steering-wheel controls, and in-dash controls that HondaLink provides. That way, users can stay safely connected without even touching their phones.

HondaLink arrives this fall with the 2013 Honda Accord. Meanwhile, the Aha Radio app is available now for free on the App Store.

Aha Mobile Launches Traffic Warning / Bitching App

[/caption]Update 8/20/2009: Aha sent us a note to let us know that in addition to SF, LA, and San Diego, the app also now works in DC, Dallas, Seattle, San Antonio, Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Miami Beach. More cities means more venting!

Aha has launched a rather nice traffic monitoring app for the iPhone. Finally an app with a well thought out user interface for distracted drivers. Large, clear buttons, easy to read and understand.

Aha allows you to see at a glance the travel times for your usual routes allowing you to quickly pick the best option. In addition, if you are in need of a quick caffeine hit, you can see nearby coffee shops and gas stations as you travel.

Aha also includes some interesting voice features. You can report on traffic incidents near you and listen to reports from other users and from a robot reading all of the traffic reports. There's also a room you can listen and publish voice messages bitching about traffic and bad drivers. A welcome vent when stuck in traffic. Bitching about bad drivers, now there's an app for that.

Aha is available now and it's free. It currently covers the San Francisco, LA, and San Diego areas.
