Robot Unicorn Attack Goes Universal

Posted by Brad Hilderbrand on February 24th, 2012

In a long awaited move [adult swim] has gotten rid of the iPhone and iPad versions of Robot Unicorn Attack and finally released a universal edition of the game. That means going forward all updates, new content, and other creamy goodness will be available across all devices simultaneously, unlike the previously staggered update schedule.

Sadly the news isn't all good, as there's no word if Robot Unicorn Attack Heavy Metal Edition or Christmas Edition will also get the universal treatment. As of right now both titles retain separate iPhone and iPad versions. There is also the question of whether or not [adult swim] will be offering any sort of special reward for owners of the now defunct iPad version of the game, or if those poor souls just paid an early adopter tax.

Overall, though, this is great news for fans of unicorns, rainbows, and awesomeness. We're also hoping that a unified app means the updates will come fast and frequent from now on. Gallop on unicorn, into my dreams and through all the echoes of time.

Meatwad Comes To Your iPhone

Posted by Chris Hall on September 17th, 2010

Turner Broadcasting is pairing up with the company that loves the ™, ustwo™ (.™, ..™, ...™) to create its newest Adult Swim game, Meatstroke. Based on the hit Adult Swim show, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Meatstroke is a funny new arcade game featuring one of the shows stars, Meatwad. Just in case you don't know who or what Meatwad is, he is a flying, talking piece of meat that lives in a house with a talking milkshake and some talking french fries. Like most of the shows on Adult Swim, Aqua Teen Hunger Force comes completely out of left field.

Meatstroke's simple objective is to save the talking, mutant piece of meat from the heat as he, according to ustwo™, "floats through the sky in search of sustenance." As much as people like to see meat cooked, a charred meatball would be the end of our hungry crusader. Levels are filled with traps set up by the sun, clouds that you must use to protect your meaty character, and of course the sustenance you need to gather.

“MeatStroke is a delicious treat for Adult Swim fans, packed full of flavour, fantasy and fun.” says Joe Braman of Adult Swim.

Meatstroke is only available in the European market as of now, but hopefully it'll cross the Atlantic soon. Sorry US gamers (including me, darn it).

Vending Machine Champ reminds me quite a bit of Halloween candy. It's great for a while, but then you'll just get tired of it. Well, maybe you won't get tired of it, but you will assuredly spoil your dinner.
