Seeing modern, major releases come to mobile is worth celebrating, but that doesn’t change the fact that this “re-make” is fairly disappointing.

First Impressions of Death Stranding on iOS

Posted by Campbell Bird on January 31st, 2024
+ Universal App - Designed for iPhone and iPad

Death Stranding has wandered its way onto iOS, and considering it is yet another beefy and demanding title for iOS devices to handle that seem to be trickling out as of late, I took the liberty of trying the game out for myself, recording my first stretch of gameplay with it, and drawing up some impressions to share with anyone who might be interested in picking it up.

Read on below for some detailed analysis and info of the game at first blush, otherwise feel free to watch or scrub through the video posted above to see for yourself what it seems like.

RAID: Shadow Legends calls in reinforcements from legendary hunters in new collaboration

Posted by Shaun Walton on January 9th, 2024

Despite being one of the biggest mobile games out there and for a time dominating every third ad on the internet, there hasn’t been anything momentous or groundbreaking to come out of Raid: Shadow Legends for a while. That is until Plarium announced this crossover with a world-renowned Capcom franchise.

The world of Raid is dark and full of dangerous foes, so it is time to recruit some new allies from a series that sees players facing down monstrous behemoths; Monster Hunter. These two giants come together to release five Legendary Champions from the Capcom vault, equipped with exclusive armour and weapons crafted from the likes of Rathalos, Zinogre and Fatalis.

Resident Evil 4 comes to iOS today, and we've taken video of the entire free portion that is available to let you see it in action and get a sense of how this new version fares. The short version is, this game feels an awful lot like the port job of Resident Evil Village, albeit with a modern classic, as opposed to a game that feels like a dated also-ran.

Read on below if you want more detailed perspective on Resident Evil 4 on iOS. Otherwise, you can look through the video to see it in action along with some light captions reflecting on the play session.

Two fighter giants collide as The King of Fighters Allstar kicks off latest collaboration

Posted by Shaun Walton on November 30th, 2023

Netmarble has announced the partnership between two fighting giants who really need no introductions; The King of Fighters Allstar will play host to Capcom's iconic series Street Fighter, specifically the latest entry Street Fighter 6, with three legendary fighters set to kick off the collab.

Proving the legend true that he does go with everything, Guile is a Yellow Defense type fighter, who has the rather envious leader skill of increasing the attack of all fighters, with the buff raising when defeating enemies. His Special Skill will deal Bleed damage equal to the number of attacks as you hit the Blast skill. Overall, a strong opener.

Resident Evil Village review

This iOS port is fine, and otherwise this Resident Evil game is enjoyable in a kind of risk-averse, tried-and-true-formula kind of way.

Get some discounted frights for Halloween with the iPhone release of Resident Evil Village

Posted by Shaun Walton on October 31st, 2023

If you have been on the fence about whether or not to get yourself an early Christmas present and upgrade to the latest iPhone, then allow us to make that choice a little easier with the news that Resident Evil Village and its Winter’s Expansion has launched for iOS.

Resident Evil Village is the eighth main instalment in the fabled franchise, and firmly locked in Capcom's decision to veer away from the more action-orientated titles that came before its predecessor, back to good old survival horror. Now you can replay the terror wherever you happen to be, just in time for that spookiest of days.

Apple talked a big game about bringing bigger (ahem) games to mobile at last year's WWDC, and the first title they touted as part of this effort is finally out. Capcom's Resident Evil Village is out now on the App Store and is a complete mobile port of the original game.

I've gotten my hands on it and put a decent amount of time into the spooky survival-horror game, getting just a bit past the title's "free-to-start" section and I recorded most of that experience in the video above. Because of Capcom's rules about sharing gameplay, the video also has editorial captions about what I think of the game, but I'll also outline some more thoughts below.

Two of Resident Evil's best titles will be coming to iPhone 15 later this year

Posted by Shaun Walton on September 14th, 2023

If you are looking for a new phone then the upcoming iPhone 15 could jump to the top of your wishlist with the recent announcement by Capcom that Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil Village will be available on the Pro and Pro Max devices. You can also grab these outstanding titles on an iPad Air or iPad Pro with an M1 chip or later.

This marks the first time that these two titles will be available on smartphones, and they are definitely worth the price. Whilst they don’t retain much of the straight original survival horror aspects of the original instalments, both leaning a bit more toward action, both have won Game of the Year accolades, and Resident Evil 4 is no doubt one of the most beloved in the series.

Mega Man X Dive Offline comes online September 1st

Posted by Shaun Walton on August 21st, 2023

It is a shame when a games server gets shut down, which is, unfortunately, the case for Mega Man X Dive come September, which only lasted a little over a year after its global release. Luckily for fans of the iconic series, Capcom is keeping the story alive, with Mega Man X Dive Offline.

Dive takes this storied series, and gives it a nice meta spin. In the Cyberworld region of Deep Log, the game data for Mega Man X have developed a bug, warping the games’ data and causing it to be corrupted. It is down to you to work alongside RiCO, enter the Deep Log, and find out what is going on.

Street Fighter Duel races into first collaboration with fellow Capcom classic

Posted by Shaun Walton on March 6th, 2023

In what feels like mere hours since its release, Capcom's new RPG battler Street Fighter Duel has kicked off its first collaboration. Two iconic franchises collide as Monster Hunter crashes into Duel, bringing a new fighter and events.

Before many players would have been able to get to grips with the world of Duel, or level themselves up a party, it is time to throw things into immediate chaos and introduce some newness to the new. Interestingly skewing Ryu, this event will spotlight Ken as he leads the battle against the dreaded Gore Magala.

Capcom announces team up with TiMi Studio Group for a mobile entry in iconic series

Posted by Shaun Walton on November 8th, 2022

In some very exciting news, Capcom has announced they are teaming up with TiMi Studio Group to develop a new mobile game for the massively popular Monster Hunter Series. There have not been any specifics revealed as yet, only that it will be offering a new game experience unique for mobile, suggesting an original entry and not a port.

Monster Hunter is one of those series that even non-gamers most likely would have heard about, especially with the widely successful Monster Hunter World. The action game pits the player against a variety of giant monsters in many beautiful locales, with the aim to hunt them down, harvest their parts and upgrade equipment. It has proven to be one of Capcom's most popular series with worldwide sales of 88 million units.

Posted by Olly Smith on January 5th, 2021

Capcom’s Teppen has had a new expansion called The Battle of Amatsu no Kuni added to the game, introducing Oichi The Demon Queen as well as more cards and abilities for you to choose from.

This new expansion crosses over with Capcom’s Sengoku Basara franchise, and introduces cards for Light Army commander Tokugawa Ieyasu and Dark Army commander Ishida Mitsunari, as well as Oichi, a hero from the series. She’s a widow suppressing her anguish and has eventually found herself in Amatsu no Kuni. She eventually meets a false priestess who uses her influence to turn Oichi into a demon queen by having her surrender to the abyss.

LifeAfter has teamed up with Resident Evil once again to bring more Resi content to the survival RPG

Posted by Stephen Gregson-Wood on December 6th, 2020

Earlier this year NetEase teamed up with Capcom's popular survival horror series Resident Evil for an in-game event. Now, this has returned to the game with a host of new content for players to dive into until December 17th.

It will see players working together to battle against the Umbrella Corporation and earn a few Resident Evil-themed items along the way. Among them will be outfits from iconic Resident Evil characters Jill Valentine and Albert Wesker.
