We all worry at some point in our day-to-day lives. While some of us might only worry every once in a while, others might find it a constant source of agitation. In my case, it's a little too frequent for my liking but I'm working on it. For others keen to work on how they deal with anxiety, Worry Watch is potentially a very good way of tracking such things.
It's a form of diary app focused on giving its users the space in which to document their daily worries. The eventual aim is to hopefully enable them to look back and not feel so bad about how things are. Reflection is often a very important skill for putting things into perspective, as the mind loves to lie when it's hit a downward spiral.
Worry Watch is easy to use, proving simple to add as much or as little information as one wants. A title and date is required but it's up to the user if they want to add more information via the notes section of the app. Context can be set such as if it's a family or health problem, while the outcome box proves most valuable. This enables the user to state if their worry was accurate or whether things turned out a lot better than they expected - something that is often the case with many irrational worries.
Most useful of all is the ability to track and analyze how things are going. A comprehensive statistics section provides a pie chart, graphs, and diagrams demonstrating how things are going. It's handy for potentially narrowing things down to one specific and regular event, as well as for simply putting things into perspective. In a similar vein, each worry is color-coded to show how things turned out, with the hope being that things won't seem so bad after all.
Worry Watch is an app that relies upon the honesty of its users, but when completed accurately it's a very useful tool indeed. It's passcode protected so users can be as honest as they like, and it's worthwhile pursuing. $1.99 for the chance to feel calmer and more in control of things? That seems like a great deal to me!
