Invoking memories of Snake, Wormi is a quite fun game about dodging and weaving, and one that excels in multiplayer.

The similarities to the classic mobile game Snake are pretty clear from the moment one starts playing Wormi. That brings with it a nice, heartwarming feeling for anyone who lost countless minutes (and sometimes hours) to the simple yet addictive game.

Wormi might lack the purity of that little gem but it brings something new to the table: local multiplayer based fun. Doing what the iPad does so well, it ensures that Wormi is an excellent way to enjoy some iOS based gaming amongst friends.

The single and multi player options involve a similar theme: keep the worm moving around the area while avoiding colliding with obstacles, walls, and itself. In the case of multiplayer, it's made all the harder because there are other worms to avoid, too. Moving around is simply done through two arrows which dictate left and right but that doesn't stop it from being increasingly tricky to navigate and weave around such arenas.

In both cases, winning is a matter of lasting the longest time possible. Achievements are available for lasting a particularly long time, further enhancing one's reasons for doing so. Help comes in the form of power-ups that can boost the worm's abilities, as well as give them a score bonus. When following a set pattern to remain safe though, deviating from the path can be awkward.

While invoking the memories of Snake, Wormi's single player isn't quite as compelling as it once was. In local multiplayer though, it's great fun. Each corner of the iPad is devoted to a player's arrow controls so it's easily set up and enjoyed.

That's where Wormi's greatest strengths lie, with the asking price worth it solely for the multiplayer fun. As a simple yet entertaining way to join together, it's a blast.
