WIGGLER is a silly little game from an interesting developer, and that alone makes it worth checking out.

WIGGLER is not game of the year material. Its main character is difficult to control and the hazards difficult to avoid. It's been called a "stupid game" by Simon Windmill of coolpowers.

WIGGLER was developed by coolpowers.

So why care about this stupid little game? Well, it's entertaining enough, what with its main character, a large black wiggling thing called a WIGGLER wiggling about, trying to avoid bees lest it catch a case of the wubs. Collecting more of the same "froot" consecutively leads to more points. That's pretty much the game, dragging WIGGLER about to avoid bees and eat froot.

The other part of it is that developer Simon Windmill is a very interesting person, having carved out a unique personality niche as part of the indie mobile gaming scene on Twitter, but without much in the way of actual releases as of late - he's seemingly experimented with Blackberry development and released an ad-supported version of Breakeroids last year. Otherwise he seems to unfortunately be largely toiling away in obscurity on projects seen and unseen.

This connects back to WIGGLER. The best part of it quickly becomes apparent: the wubs. What happens when a WIGGLER comes down with the wubs? Dubstep starts playing, the WIGGLER wiggles much more slowly, and it starts blinking. Exactly what happens to me when I hear dubstep, of course.

Thus, this silly little game becomes the world's most accurate dubstep simulator, and it provides a memorable moment. It's worth coming back just to experience the wubs again because it's so stupid and ludicrous that the rest of the game isn't so important. Well, there's also the goofy sayings at the beginning like "Eat Froot - Learn Nothing" and "Eat the Rich...Tasty Froot" and it's all just so silly and stupid that it can't help but be amusing. And that's why it's worth caring about - not everything has to come from traditional roots and be lengthy experiences. Maybe a stupid little game about a WIGGLER with dubstep from one guy can be entertaining enough to download.

That it's free with ads helps too.

So WIGGLER is not the most advanced game, the most well-designed or the most anything. WIGGLER is amusing and interesting, and that's more than can be said about a lot of games. Check it out and feel the wubs. And get ready for RAGE BABY too. I don't know what it will be, but it has a baby flipping a table in anger. Now that's a game of the year candidate.
