Oh my goodness, another matching game? Another one? How can there be anything left that's different? Hasn't it all been done? I guess not.

Smiles is another entry in the very large category of matching games for the iPhone. While the category is rather large, very few do it well. This one does it well. With fantastic graphics, varied game play, and achievements there's a lot of gameplay value here.

As with other matching games, your goal is to match 3 or more of the same cells together to have them removed from the board. Unlike some others though, you don't swap adjacent cells. In this game you swap a cell in the reserve with one on the board. The one rule is that when you swap it in it must make a match.

There are multiple game modes including the usual ones and some that I haven't seen before. This game also lets you orient the device in the direction you choose and the game board shifts as you rotate. This can make some difference in some of the variations.

The graphics and sounds in this game are fantastic. Well done and easy to look at. The video below gives you some idea if the quality of this fantastic game.

There's a lot to this game. For a fan of the genre, this could be the ultimate expression of a matching game. Very well done features including some that you wouldn't expect. Overall a great game and great value considering the depth.
