Raging Thunder

Raging Thunder, the current cream of the crop for racing games on the iPhone really shines!

Finally a racing game that brings it all together. Great 3D graphics, wifi multiplayer, multiple tracks, multiple gaming modes. All together it makes a great racing game.

Game modes in Raging Thunder include quick race, arcade, time attack, and championship. Each provides an interesting new play mode. In addition, you can play against up to 3 other Raging Thunder players on wifi!

Raging Thunder does a great job of allowing you to suspend your game and come back later. Automatically pausing the game when you exit the application. This allows you to start back off right where you left off. In addition there are power ups that give you boost and money for upgrades. One additional feature is that when you are close to another car you can press the right side of the screen to spin them out of your way.

The controls are the usual accelerometer controls — or you have the option of doing touch screen controls. The touch screen controls are rather innovative — you touch the screen and then move in the direction you want to go — up to accelerate, down to break, left and right to steer. Both methods work pretty well.

This is just about as perfect of an arcade racing game as we’ve seen on the iPhone so far. A great game, lots of variety, looks fantastic, and fun to play. And the real good news is that it’s 1/2 the price of the Windows Mobile version!
