It's not quite the "one size fits all" of photo editing apps, but PicsPlay Pro is quite close to it.

The app offers a multitude of different ways of adjusting a photo. It's possible to take an image from within the app as well as import it, through a fairly simple to use interface. It's then just down to the user to interact however they wish. PicsPlay Pro offers plenty of clear buttons and menu options, ensuring it's never fiddly to figure out what can be done.

Logically working from left to right, the options start out with cropping and rotation, before moving onto more sweeping changes such as adding special effects, filters and even stamps and text. In each case, a clear to see Undo button ensures it's always possible to take a step back, no matter how many steps have been completed. There's also a button that can be held to demonstrate how the photo looked originally, proving convenient for those seeking more subtle changes to their imagery.

In all, there are 200 effects available to apply, each relating to a different category such as Vintage, HDR and Black & White. Conveniently, it's possible to see a brief preview of each effect before applying, saving the user some valuable time. Further effects can be applied, too, such as a color splash look and tilt shifting. More editing based features such as adjusting the exposure, white balance and sharpness of the photo are all here too, each proving simple and effective to use.

That's the big advantage to PicsPlay Pro: it's consistently straight-forward to use, making great results quite simple to implement. I particularly appreciated the Histogram feature for a quick automatic fix when in a hurry to change a photo around. While I don't tend to apply stamps or text to my image, it's handy to have them bundled in if I ever choose to at a later date.

Finishing things off with plenty of sharing features, including Instagram, Twitter, Tumblr and Flickr, PicsPlay Pro is a great all-rounder. A layering feature would have been nice or the ability to save a process but, otherwise, I was quite impressed with PicsPlay Pro.
