There are so many cameras available nowadays that more and more people are becoming interested in photography. The new technology can help make photography a lot easier, but it can also add to the burden of taking amazing photographs due to all the overwhelming features. Instead of rushing to the bookstore, photo fanatics can now download a neat little app known as Photo Academy to help them master the art of photography.

Photo Academy is an interactive comprehensive guide that helps users take better photographs thanks to thousands of tips by professional photographers, inspirational photos, detailed camera settings information and full length articles. It even comes loaded with a photo diary and a way for users to organize and share their photos.

To get started, users can select from one of four sections: How to, Photo 101, News and Shoot Diary. The How to section contains the bulk of the app and features detailed information about taking the best pictures possible. There is a list of subjects on the left side of the screen that includes topics like animals, people, sports and travel. Tapping on one of these subjects opens another list. The app then provides users with a list of helpful and detailed tips and hints written by professionals on the right side of the screen. The right side menu includes general tips, camera settings, equipment, lighting, creativity tips, a photo gallery and a favorites section.

After users take professional photographs, they can then tap on the Shoot Diary section to record their journey. It’s possible to add the weather, location, time and date as well as notes to photographs. This section also allows for sharing of pictures as well.

The Photo 101 section is perfect for anyone who is new to the world of photography. It also is an excellent reference area for anyone looking to expand their skills. It provides a list of detailed articles and topics that range in level of difficulty such as editing, composition and camera settings.

Photo Academy for iPad is loaded with a lot of content, which can make it a little overwhelming at first. Adding a search bar would be a great addition. The app could also benefit from a community board or a social media aspect where photographers could chat and help each other.

A few minor tweaks and improvements would enhance the app, but there’s really nothing majorly wrong with how it runs and looks now. Anyone interested in photography or looking to brush up on their skills should grab a copy today while it’s currently on sale. There’s so much information packed into it, that Photo Academy is definitely a must-have.
