Perfect Rhyme is a simple, no frills app that allows you to look up a word and then find other words that rhyme with it. While it lacks definitions or access to online resources, it serves its intended purpose.

Perfect Rhyme is an simple to use app that allows poets and lyricists to easily find words that rhyme with other words. It offers over 130,000 entries and includes common acronyms, names and plural forms. While it is a no frills apps, as it has no online integration or definitions, it does what it advertises.

Simply put, Perfect Rhyme is a rhyming dictionary. Start the app, type in a word or part of a word, and it displays a list of matches. Let’s say you type in “wate”. The list will show “Water,” “Water’s”, “Water-repellent”, etc. If one of those matches what you are looking for, tap on the matching word and the list will be replaced with words that rhyme. At this point you can scroll through the list, or if there are words with varying numbers of syllables that rhyme, you can go to those words by tapping on the index on the right that shows what syllable counts are available.

Perfect Rhyme is very easy to use, is very inexpensive, and does not require configuration. If your needs are simple and you really just need a little help with words that rhyme, it should serve you well.

What Perfect Rhyme does not offer are definitions so you can easily find out what a particular word means, nor can it integrate with online resources that might provide more sophisticated capabilities. Lastly, it would be helpful if Perfect Rhyme maintained a history of words so that you can easily see what sorts of matches you found.

If you are a poet, lyricist, or are otherwise in need of words that rhyme, Perfect Rhyme is definitely worth the asking price. You may find it a bit barren in the features department, and if you’re used to rhyming dictionaries that list words by their terminations, you might find it a little unorthodox, but regardless, at this price you won’t feel too cheated.
