Anyone who drives in big cities knows that it can be a hassle to drive a car, let alone park one. Not only is it essential to remember where the car is parked, but those pesky parking meters always seem to expire at the worst times. iPhone users who are tired of losing their cars or just can’t handle another parking ticket will be thankful for Park-Assist and what it has to offer.

To get started, users must provide Park-Assist with access to their current location. A meter is displayed at the top with a map of the current location on the bottom. To set the meter, simply swipe left or right on the screen. It’s possible to set the timer for up to 2 hours and 45 minutes. The remaining time is shown on the home screen icon so users don’t have to open the app to see how many minutes are left. Notifications are then sent to alert users of an expiring meter, and a map is displayed to show users the exact location of their car.

Park-Assist also helps guide users back to their cars. Open the app and tap the giant blue “P” button and the app drops a blue pin on a map to show the exact location of the car. When users start their trek back, it shows the precise distance, time remaining on the meter if one was used, and it can even show users if their car is above or below them if the difference is over 6 feet.

There are a few other neat features located in Park-Assist. The app saves all parking history, which is neat for those who may have found an awesome parking spot but couldn’t remember where it was located. Users can also swipe down on the meter to turn notifications off, change the unit of measurement, or even email the car’s location.

For a completely free app, Park-Assist is rather impressive. The design is sharp and clean, the app is easy-to-use, and it works flawlessly. There's only some slight room for improvement - the meter could use more time on it, and it would be neat to add a separate timer for parking garages that charge by the hour.

Park-Assist does what it promises and it doesn’t disappoint. This is an app that any driver should have on their home screen as I can see it being handy often. I highly recommend adding this one to the collection today.
