The original Paper Toss is still popular amongst hundreds of thousands today (myself included), and so when I heard that there was to be a sequel of sorts to the smash-hit original, I could barely contain my excitement. With multiplayer games being all the rage nowadays, it makes sense for
Paper Toss‘s latest foray into the market puts a focus on multiplayer gaming – but can it live up
to its predecessor?

The goal of Paper Toss Friends couldn’t be simpler; the player has to flick an object into a bin. In fact, most people have probably played a basic version of the game, whether they were bored at work, at the office or anywhere really that has access to paper and a bin!

The main difference between Paper Toss Friends and the original Paper Toss is of course, the multiplayer aspect. Thankfully, the multiplayer aspect is implemented excellently – making for a fun and challenging change from the original. I was able to find a person to play against almost instantly thankfully to the popularity of the game and the actual game was both fun and challenging. The ability to choose different objects to ‘toss’ and more environments are also a welcome change, especially when playing for long periods of time.

If I had to pinpoint one niggle it would have to be the lack of single player. Although there is the standard version of Paper Toss which is just pure single player fun, it would have been nice if a ‘Practice’ mode or something similar was implemented in Paper Toss Friends for the sake of those times where you don’t have internet and want to play.

As I said above, the ability to choose from different items to choose and the addition of more environments will definitely be welcomed by all. Players can choose from a reasonable sizable amount of environments and objects, ranging from throwing a cola can into a trash can on an intern’s lap, to throwing a grenade into a trash can on the boss’s desk.

For both long-time fans of the Paper Toss series and newcomers alike, most people will definitely find Paper Toss Friends appealing. With its mix of fun environments, objects to throw and amount of players to compete against some players may even find it more time-consuming than the real thing!
