Oh My Nuts is a fun and challenging physics puzzler. The look and feel of the game are top-notch, and the levels include interactive elements to engage players’ attention.
The goal is to propel a squirrel to an acorn without landing on the ground. Each level, the squirrel starts in a pig’s mouth and by touching the pig and dragging, players control the power and direction that the squirrel will be launched from the pig’s mouth.
To reach the acorn, players have to avoid enemies and obstacles, such as evil looking birds that block the obvious path to the acorn. Levels often include trampolines for added complexity. There are interactive elements in some levels, such as rotating barrels, which shoot the squirrel out when tapped. The interactive elements engage players so there is more to do than only choose the power and trajectory of the squirrel.
There are over 50 levels in the app, which divided into collections named after countries. Players start in Japan and then travel to the USA, France, and Brazil. The levels are themed appropriately for each country. For instance, French levels have the Eiffel Tower in the background. The developers have promised that more levels are coming soon.
The graphics for Oh My Nuts are great. When I took the time to look at the backgrounds, I was amazed by how beautiful they are.
Players can attempt to collect 3 stars on all the levels, or just focus on the acorn. There are also plenty of achievements to keep players busy.
Oh My Nuts is a notable addition to the crowded physics-puzzler category. The game looks great and is fun to play. There are elements to the game, which make players do more than just launch the squirrel. The game doesn’t offer any innovative gameplay mechanics, but delivers a worthwhile experience.
