Meeblings are adorable little characters that are described best as jelly bean-like heroes with personalities and special abilities. Fans of the flash game as well as those who loved Bloons TD 4 will more than likely enjoy playing Meeblings.

Players must make their way through 60 challenging physics puzzles in an effort to escort the little fellows to the exit safely. Each level displays the target number of Meeblings that need rescued along with the actual number saved. Players must use the Meeblings’ special abilities to help them reach the exit safely.

The Meeblings’ special abilities are based on their color. For instance, the blue ones push other Meeblings, the red ones burn holes, the green ones grow into trees and the gray ones turn electricity on and off. There are a total of nine different Meeblings that have special abilities. In order to activate one of the little guys, players must simply tap and hold on to it. More than one character can be activated at the same time, which is often necessary in the more difficult levels.

Successfully completing a level earns Gemlings which are used to unlock new content. Gamers who are stuck or frustrated have the option to skip or see the solution of levels with their earned Gemlings.

There are IAPs, but they don’t affect the game play. Gamers have the option to disable the banner ads for $0.99 or purchase a small Gemling pack for an additional $1.99.

Having played many physics puzzlers, this game wasn't all that original but the varied game mechanics kept it from going stale too quickly. However, I inevitably felt like it was a little too easy. The levels eventually do get more challenging as gamers progress toward the end, but the ability to view solutions and skip levels is hard to resist. It’s definitely a kid-friendly game that die hard casual gamers will also enjoy, but serious gamers may not find it as fun.

While it may not grab everyone’s attention, this physics puzzler shouldn’t be shrugged off immediately. Since players have the option to go back and replay levels to earn more Gemlings in order to unlock levels, its replay value is high. The graphics are also charming and look sharp on the retina display.

Overall, the varied game play along with the diverse levels makes Meeblings an impressive game for anyone looking for something new. Since it’s completely free to play, I recommend that everyone check it out for themselves. If you do give it a try, let us know what you think about the game in the comments below.
