A well done conversion utility priced right in a very crowded category.

Measures is another entry into the very full conversion category in the App Store. The developer has taken great pains though to make this a really good application. In addition, the price is right!

Measures includes all of the conversions you would expect — and categorized in a nice selection dialog that takes up the bottom half of the screen. The left most selector has the category of the conversion, next is the from and then the convert to selections.

In addition, Measures includes currency conversion for 170 different currencies. While it states that it should not be used for official transactions, it’s nice to have it with you to see how much you are getting ripped off by the currency conversion companies in the airport.

This latest version has also included a calculator function – allows you to calculate a number and then convert it directly. Nice feature.

There are 3 quick access conversion favorites on the right side – you can update them at any time by holding down the favorite key to set it to the current conversion.

This is a real stand out in a very busy category. The price is right, if you need a conversion utility, and who doesn’t, this is a great option.
