Lumen is a fantastic puzzle game with nearly endless levels

Lumen is an absolute gem of a puzzle game. Having played the original Lumen for the desktop, having Lumen on the iPhone was fantastic. It might even be possible that Lumen on the iPhone OS is even better.

The game play lends itself to casual gaming on a mobile platform very well. There are hundreds and hundreds of levels to play. And, Lumen on the iPhone is the first iPhone app to have a cheat discovered.

The basic premise of Lumen is that you have a single light beam that you have to use to light up all of the checkpoints on the game board. You do this by placing items from your reserve at the bottom of the screen onto the game board. You will need to reflect the light to point in different directions and also change the color by using gems. The color of the beam must match the checkpoint for it to pass through, that’s where the color changing gems come in.

The games comes with quite a few levels and access to over 1,200 from the online repository. 1,200 freakin levels. You will never finish this game.

Here’s a movie from the developer showing the game play, but note that the graphics are from an earlier version, they are greatly improved.

This game is nearly 100% perfect. The only small thing I would change is the notice that you win a level comes up a little too quickly. A very minor issue. Easily worth the $4 price. Pick it up today! Still not sure? A free demo/lite version is available.
