The object of Jabeh is to find the 12 hidden stones within the grid. The columns (at the top and side) are numbered so you can see how many stones are hidden in that column. Using swipe or tap motions, you mark the squares for elimination or as a stone. Similar play to Minesweeper and Soduku, with a slick and clean interface.

Jabeh is good because its challenging. It’s great exercise for your brain because you really have to think about it. Looking carefully at the squares for possible elimination. The icon is beautiful and the game interface is very intuitive, you could easily understand the controls without having read the instructions. To really get into the game and understand the dynamics, the developer has recorded a video. This describes how to play and tips for strategy. It’s worth watching, and you will get more out of the game because he describes techniques to get started. (I really needed this because I don’t play Soduku.)

In game instructions are very easy to follow and clear, and you can swipe to navigate through it. (User intuitive, just swipes and taps, making good use of iPhone integration). One great feature is the ability to get a ‘hint’ if you are stuck. Unfortunately it is also really tempting to use that feature way too much. This game would suit people who like the MineSweeper type of games, and Soduku puzzles.

There are help forums online if you do run into difficulty solving something. Keep in mind though that you can exit the level / game you are playing at any point which is great. Also you can view your statistics to keep you competitive and try to get a better ‘completed puzzle’ time.

Some possible things that could be altered or improved would be that the boxes are somewhat small to click on. This sometimes resulted in repeated clicks.

Also, I personally didn’t like the music, but it is available as a separate download to listen to it because it is all original, created just for this game. I did turn off the sound after about five minutes or so. Lastly, I was disappointed that when I had completed a puzzle the game reveals the picture behind the puzzle, then loads a new puzzle. I really wanted some kind of fireworks or a well done you clever person type of message. (or maybe a reward? a feature?)

If you enjoy logic puzzles and a Soduku style game then this really is worth your time and money. The application is slick in all areas and you will easily spend hours trying to solve so many puzzles, within so many levels.
